Either way....I think that the flash will be very beneficial in the long run....especially if you plan on adding more mods....The fact that they cracked open Pandora's box (Mazda ECU) just means better things in the future for all us Mazda owners... :koolaidman:

I haven't talked to them yet...but it's on the website to order.....I know a few guys on the CX7 forums talked about leaving there cars with CP-E for testing....It should have been easy..its just a Speed6 tuned down.....a lot...

The following data was taken from an MS3 with a cp-e FMIC, CAI, DP, an HKS BOV, and stock exhaust. The difference in the two graphs is only the flash. Both runs were with the same tune on the standback set to 17 psi. The car was flashed while sitting on the dyno and nothing else was changed. Apples to Apples.

Here's the horsepower:

Here's torque:

For those worried about an open throttle leaning the car out, here's afr:

Here are the datalogs from the standback for both runs

It is important to note that the only thing changed in the flash is the throttle plate tables. No other tweaks such as timing or boost or afr were made.

What you're looking at fellas is 19 whp and 55 ft-lbs wtq and complete verification that the throttle plate was a major limitation in our cars.

That torque gain is ridiculous.....can't wait for the reflash!!! I think it's well worth the money....

It's also important to note there is a significant increase in "area under the curve", especially for the torque rating. Also remember the numbers that Speed3 put down are on a Dynojet. Not that it matters, as the difference is all we're concerned about.

the increase in TQ is significant under the curve, but it is a broader, bigger curve throughout the rpms... Most people have stated they feel it mostly in 1st-2nd gears, between 2k and 4k.. but still, as the graphs show, its better EVERYWHERE.

Is it reasonable to assume doing this voids a car's drivetrain warranty, or am I way off?

To void a warranty, a mod has to be a culprit of a failure, or at least a factor in the failure. Also, the mod has to be found :)
