In case anyone is wondering, it's still running! She says it's starting as easily as it did when she first got it, so I must have moved the solenoid just enough to get the contacts lined up or something.

I ain't touching it unless it croaks again!

Aha!!! Today we figured it out, rather inadvertently.

Sarah had a flat at the 7-11 on Barnes. I went and helped her change it. Moved back wheel to front, put donut on back, and BAM! The car wouldn't start. CRAP. Same EXACT problem as before.

I did everything. Hammered on the starter. Tried the other key. Checked ignition fuses. Wiggled the one battery cable I could reach (the positive) and found it tight.

Sigh.

So she called Arthur's towing. He shows up and hears the symptoms. Says, "Check the battery terminals. Chevy's side-mount terminals come loose all the time."

So he checked the positive and found it tight, as I had. I wiggled my hand down in there to check the ground and guess what? LOOSE AS HELL.

So we got that tightened down and the car started right up. As she drove away, Arthur confirmed what _I_ told her two months ago -- bad lifter. Needs valve job. Soon.

Funny -- she's listening to Arthur, but NOT to dad. No-no. WOuldn't want to do that. :(

And when she was gone, Arthur (actually, his name is Sean according to his business card) expressed great admiration for my MS6. Hee hee hee.

In all seriousness -- I recommend Arthur's. He's a good guy. Does flats, towing, jumpstarts, lock-outs, and so on. Reasonable fee. Tried to give Sarah back her $50 towing fee, but she told him to keep it for helping her out. (Major good-move on her part...) But if anyone needs him, his number is 719-761-0088.

Thank goodness you got the problem fixed! I never listened to my dad either, it's in the "Teen Book of Rulez." Don't you remember getting that?

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive it.

My dad was terribly intimidating on things like that. I didn't listen to him on other things, but where cars were concerned, I STILL listen to him. LOL.

But yeah, that problem is fixed. Now to get that tire fixed and then the valve job.
