Club Install Weekend Apr 16th and 17th
No sign up needed. But it would help to know who will be at the thrash and on which days. All are welcome (rookies that want to learn please plan to come). We should be able to have three cars "inside" at a time and room for more on the driveway (if the weather is nice).

I need to know more (or have a translator - xp, dp & rp? - I come from a pre texting generation) but we should be able to work on that.

Depending if I want to do the 3's t-stat replacement then or the rx-7's water pump or something. I still need to find the thermo sensor for the one on the back of the engine but noone carries it :/
edit:
I'll go either way to have funand learn!
... I can't be there that Saturday, unless you guys are doing things *after* say like, 830PM. I work until 6 that night and won't be back in springs til 7, and I can get to denver around 8-830. If not, I'll be there sunday.
Christi, I can order parts for you. Just get me the part number and I'll get it sent to me. It's waaaaaay cheaper through me.

RP = race pipe or test pipe. Easiest install there is, 15 min tops. Downpipe however, is much more involved.

I've installed a Turbo XS downpipe...It's tricky, esp getting the new one back in.
Can you check the flange for the Race-pipe > cat-back exhaust connection See if it's a flat diamond shape or if it's a designed for a donut gasket. Because if memory serves, stock uses donut gaskets throughout and the turbo xs does not.
Otherwise you will have an exhaust leak. Also, you will need a tune for the downpipe, or you'll be experiencing serious load cut.

Okay I cannot get off Saturday so I'll be there sunday. I have some rotors that need to be put on the 7 that I can have done if I fix my water pump leak, to be able to drive up there. However my brakes on the 7 are I'm excellent condition should I just not worry, and come for a learning experience?
Also how far can 20% left of rear brake pads last? (in the 3)

Do some math, how many miles on those rears....? Do those pads have the squeal clips, they'll make noise before they do damage.

Math is totally not my friend =P
On a serious note, they're the original brake pads...64k miles on them.
I justn find it weird that the best have worn down *faster* than the fronts... in a fwd car .

Then check them again in 5000 miles, plan to replace them at 10K. Or bring a set along and we can swap them on that Sunday. Traditionally front brakes do most of the work in cars (weight shift and such) The front brakes are also larger diameter and larger pad surface. A highway driven car will see the rear wearing faster or more even with the fronts. Lowered and "sport" cars will throw that balance off too.
Porsche's 911 has always been a car with pretty much the same brakes and wear front and rear.
It's what we drive and how we drive them. It's not weird, it is just different from the rest of the world.

Turbo XS Stealthback exhaust
One of the websites states the following which I assume means it is supposed to match up right:
This stealthback exhaust for the Mazdaspeed3 includes an adapter plate for your OEM catback exhaust or will mate to any aftermarket catback system to as part of a full turboback exhaust. Kit includes OEM adapter plate, gaskets and hardware.
I also plan on getting an Accessport soon to help with tune but do I need to have it tuned at a shop?
