It seems to me there's a reason why mazdas don't show up to a vw meet and no matter how hard one tries to make it seem different, that won't change. Promote Mazda meets (and show up to the MAZDA meets) and maybe there would be a better turn out.
Alright Tbot. Lets work this out since you seem to be hating on me so much right now. First, this Sonic meet was originally the Hamburger Stand meet about three years ago. It started there and ended up moving to a few different locations. If anyone was able to attend that particular location off Union they would understand that it is a meet for all makes and models regardless of age, race, sex, etc. It moved down south to the DTC for a while, also inviting each and every car make and model if so desired. Now that the customer complaints rolled in the DTC Sonic is no longer an option, thus moving the new Sunday night Sonic meet location to Lakewood of Alameda. Again, any car is welcomed, yes even you Tbot. To be honest, imports make up about 75% of the cars that show up on Sundays so youre right, muscle cars dont always show. But Mazdas can be considered an import car, I consider my MS3 and import.
I attend VW meets because for 2 years I did try to make MAZDA specific events occur. At which time, about 8 months ago, I came to the realization that most CMZC members werent interested in MAZDA specific events or just werent able to make it out. Thus, I moved into a Euro scene. In addition Metrodubs has always been a sister club to CMZC from its conception and I was welcomed with open arms as I moved to their meets. They have three meets during the week; a dinner on Wednesday, a MD specific meet on Saturday and then the Sunday Sonic they attend along side many other cars. They could care less that I drive a Mazda and are quite impressed with my little beast.
You ask to promote MAZDA meets? This thread is EXACTLY that. Bring the Mazdas out with the other enthusiasts who drive Honda, Infiniti, Nissan, Lexus, Acura, Toyota, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Chevy, etc.
You know what I tried to do for this club and me reviving this thread was my attempt to give new and old members an opportunity to make it out to a meet, something a Moderator should be doing.
