I sauntered into the parts shop and thought I would order a set (if I buy the car) only to find that they cost over $240! Holy crap. For chrome exhaust tips? Any idea where to get these add-ons for a more realistic price?[/b]

Try Some of the Aftermarket Exhaust Manufacturers. They arent going to be the same thing that mazda sells but you may find something you like. Borla has a nice selection of tips. You could also probably try ebay. Most of Borlas tips are for 2.25/ 2.5 inch inlets. A full set looks like it'll run you around $130- $150 bucks

One thing I noticed the 08 model had that this 04 didn't have was chrome exhaust tips (with rolled edges of course - very nice). So I sauntered into the parts shop and thought I would order a set (if I buy the car) only to find that they cost over $240! Holy crap. For chrome exhaust tips? Was I at a Lamborghini dealer all of a sudden?

Any idea where to get these add-ons for a more realistic price? I know Pep Boys carries cheap imitations that rust and won't have nice rolled edges (and may not fit perfect since they're generic) but I don't want to put some cheap $15 tips on either.[/b]

Interesting. I wonder if it's the stock exhaust on that car. My '04 has shiny Mazda chrome tips on it, and it's stock.

OK totally high jacked this thread but guess I should finish it off. I won't be getting the white 8. Burt has a pretty fair price for her but the deal just is not going to work for me.

Back to topic, Dascar. GET AN 8!

Real quick thing about the color. If your in anything that isn't....grey, gray, silver, charcoal, white, beige, champaing, off white, black, or anything close to those you are going to be easier to spot seing as that is the most colorful palatte people like for some reason. So Blue, Red, Yellow, Green (Bright colors that pop) will stick out from the crowd.

Lookin' for some feedback. I am extremely close to buying a very nice used Winning Blue 04 RX8. This would be another sports car in a long line of nice rides over the past 12 years: Mitsu 3000GT, Nissan 350z, Porsche 911 (1984 Carrera), Corvette C5, BMW 330ci.

I have test-driven quite a few and am very impressed with the RX8. My concerns involve a few things: 1) I am 41 years old and want a car that others my age will also own so that I'm not the old man in the room at a car club meeting or at the track - these RX8s seem to have a younger demographic of owner than I'm used to, 2) While I'm pleasantly surprised with the power, I would like another 25hp or so to keep up with the rest of the machines on the street but I don't want to spend much more than $1k to get there. 3) Will the Winning Blue Metallic color of my possible purchase feel "dated" or "too loud" in the real world or overly attract the attention of the local constables?

Please ping back some feedback! Thanks![/b]

You should definitely not buy that wb 04. You should howerver buy my tg 04 6spd. I guarantee mine is in better condition and priced lower. Probabaly lower mileage as well. PM me if interested.
