After my brother and I left, we ended up going to Bandimere, but it was pretty late by the time we got there, not a lot of time for runs. My first pass, and first time launching the car, I babied it off the line at maybe ~2800-3000rpm, and pulled a 13.914@102.31mph, which, not too bad for a ~3800 lbs AWD car, with half a tank of gas, a car seat in the back and a set of jumper cables & small air compressor in the trunk haha. Only thing the car has is a Cobb AP stage 1 flash, other than that, bone stock.
Ran against a new Camaro SS in the left slip, not sure what he had done to it. In the right slip, I tried another pass right before, attempting to launch around ~4500, and it would have been a damn good pass I think if the clutch didn't stick to the floorI had to completely let off the gas, shift to 2nd early, and push the clutch down a couple times just to get it off the floor. My guess, if my clutch didn't stick, I would have pulled a much better 60 ft on that run, and ran somewhere around mid 13's at ~103-ish:
In contrast, these were the best times for my brother's LS2 powered 400hp '06 GTO 4AT:
Either way, had a damn good time at the install meet, and a good time (albeit short) at Bandimere afterwards. Hope to see everyone next time out, and maybe I'll even be able to bring my Mazda to a Mazda meet haha!

erod550 wrote:Nice runs. I had the exact same problem with my clutch sticking to the floor (on the 3-4 shift) on one of my 2 runs at Pueblo last weekend. Wasted a 2.1 60' too. Might have been a 13.2 or better, as I ran 13.62 on the 2nd run with a high 2.3 60'.
That Camaro time surprises me as well, but then looking more closely that is possibly the worst launch in the history of drag racing, lol. 2.68 60'. With that trap he could easily be running in the low 14, high 13 range with a good launch. The GTO times surprise me more than the Camaro times. Those things can be beasts. Was he power braking at the line at all? I know they are heavy boats but I would have thought it would be a lot faster than that. He needs to get some mods on that thing pronto, lol.
Now I'm a bit concerned that I'm going to be disappointed with my times at Bandi when I go next month. I'm hoping that a better track surface will lead to better launches and make up for the higher DA than Pueblo. I guess we'll see.
And back to the topic, yes, huge thanks to Eric for opening up his garage to all of us. I was able to get a project done that I've been putting off for over a year. I shouldn't have stayed BS'ing afterward for as long though. The sun went down while I was driving home with the top down and it got a might bit chilly, heh.
Whereas, I checked the weather, and if we had went earlier in the morning, DA was closer to 6400 ft, I'm sure that would have helped a ton. In my old Subaru's, I used to be able to pull 1.7-1.8 60 ft times without a problem, but my AWD Bimmer doesn't want to launch as easily.... doesn't help that I had never launched it before haha. I have a feeling that on a nicer day, with a solid launch, I should be able to pull mid-low 13's at 103-104mph. Just a guess though.

erod550 wrote:I trapped 107.7 at Pueblo last week. Guys are NOT trapping 115 stock in these at sea level. More like 107-109. They are running high 12s a lot of them though. Usually around 12.7 @ 107-108. With my mods they are trapping closer to 115. Lucky bastards.
There was an SRT-8 Charger at Pueblo last week that was running 13.77. Don't know what his traps were or his 60'. There was one GTO but I didn't see what he was running, and there were no new Camaros, so I don't have any reference point on those.
I just used that DA calculator for the day I went to Pueblo and despite it being 1,000' lower altitude, the DA was still 7164 that day. So with good weather, a DA closer to 6400' like you said, and a good launch, I should theoretically be able to get into the 12s. Now I don't want to wait until May to find out, hehe. I'm putting some relocation brackets on the control arms today that should eliminate wheelhop the rest of the way and let me launch harder and faster. I didn't have anything done to the suspension when I ran at Pueblo last week.
