New to site and mad as hell.

Postby rjdelisi » Wed Mar 03, 2010 9:14

Hello all, My name's Rich and back in mid January I relocated to Colorado from the east coast. I live in Monument, work in Colorado Springs and drive a stock 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5. If anyone can make a recommendation on where I can bring my pride & joy for service, I'd be much obliged. Right now, the car is in the shop of a dealer in COS and I'm so frustrated with them I could scream. Hope to see some of you cruising around (if I ever get my car back).

I was going to recommend Bob Penkhus Mazda in the Springs, but it sounds like that's where it's at. I recommend the Powers Autopark branch of Penkhus...talk to Joey Culbertson if they're frustrating you. He's always helped me out.

Welcome!

Thanx to all that responded...I grew up in NY, lived in NJ for 15 years before we (wife, me, 2 dogs) moved out here. Monument is OK, we're renting a house until my house in NJ sells...long story short, my check engine light had been coming on & off for about 2 weeks, so being new to the area, I made an appointment at w/ Bob P. I didn't realize I made the appointment at the shop off Woodmen, because I brought it to the place in Motor city. I had to sit in the waiting room from 7AM till 11 am before the service advisor was available to tell me they didn"t know why the CEL would come on...It took them another hour to tell me they think it's the fuel pump, that they have to order one and they'll have it tomorrow (today) and that they'll call me when it comes in. l had to call them twice this afternoon to find out that the pump didn't come in and they expect it tomorrow. Thanx all for letting me vent....stay tuned for further details!

Where in New York? I'm from upstate, in the Lake George area originally.

There's your problem. Take it to the Woodmen one next time. It's closer to you (get of I25 at Interquest and follow Powers south to Woodmen) and Joey's crew is pretty sharp. Nothing but problems with the Motor City people.

They've taken care of MANY things for us on both our CX-9 and my MS6.

I'm from the 5 boros of NYC originally (Queens & Brooklyn), but I've been up to Lake George many times, especially the Boltons Landing area. Beautiful country!

Yup, bringing the car to Motor city was a big mistake...if there's a next time I'll be sure to bring it to Joey.

Haha, yeah many of the NYC folks have vacationed up in our neck of the woods. Bolton Landing is a nice area...I spent many years near there, at Cleverdale.

Definitely stop by and see Joey next time there's a problem. Tell him you heard about them on here. If he ever leaves that service shop, I'll probably cry.

I had the gas cap issue on my MS3. Hey, not to hijack the new guy's thread or anything but how is the Powers location on modded cars? Are they void happy with warranties? I'm not having any problems with the car or anything and I do my own oil changes, but just in case something does happen and I need to take it in, I need to know how much stuff I have to take off before going.

Looking forward to pics of the MSM!
