Holy crap, the challengers were out in force tonight. In fifteen minutes of driving I was challenged by:

1. V6 Mustang. Ignored him.

2. Grand Am. Ignore HER.

3. 2009-ish GTI. Ignored it as it FLEW past me at probably 100 mph.

4. A4 2.0T. Ignored him. Ignored him some more. Ignored him even more. Then finally got pissed off at him passing and cutting me off (friggin ricer move) so I threw it down a gear and embarrassed him. I felt bad about that one because my son was with me, but I'd reached the point that I was tired of dealing with the douchebag's shitty driving, so I left him behind. A lot. There was a 6i trying to stay out of his way, too, and not having too much luck. But bad judgment on my part--should have let him go and just laid back. Bad example. Bad Stealth.

WTF was in the water tonight?

The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am at myself for losing my temper at that Audi driver. What an irresponsible jackass example I set. OK...time to deny myself boost for 2 days. All shifts will take place below 3000 rpm until I manage to make up for being a jerk. Sheesh. What a dumbass.

in a couple years i think ford's gunna have a twin turbo 6.2L v8 in something similar to the lighting, granted its not a car, but the truck design for then looks pretty bad ass :) so that much power in a selectable rwd or 4wd :D

I'm not a big "trunk guy", but I kind of like their new Raptor. I saw the video of them taking it Baja-ing, and it looked like a lot of fun.

Although I was really disappointed when I saw the horsepower specs on it. IIRC, it was around 320bhp, and I found myself thinking "the old Lightning had 380bhp, why couldn't they just use that motor?". Although I think it will be getting a big power boost, once the new Coyote V8's are released :)

Yeah, generally if there's a snake on the grill, I stay away from it. Unless it's snowing...then I have them!

They had a new Raptor at the PPIHC fan fest. Cool looking truck. If I remember right it is an N/A 5.4L V8. The guy said it was the replacement for the Lightning. They also had a new Fiesta

roninsoldier83 wrote:I've made a rule: Don't play with 03-04 Cobra's, specifically on the freeway. From a dig, my STI will pull on just about anything (assuming I feel like launching), but I know better than to challenge 03-04 Cobra's. Those things are typically freeway monsters. Underrated at 390bhp out of a Supercharged 4V DOHC 4.6L V8, those things will easily see 450+hp out of simple mods like a pulley & tune. Almost everyone I've ever seen was modded... I know better.

My STI might be able to walk a stock one from a roll, but am well aware that a mildly modded 03-04 Cobra will walk away from my STI with ease. Those things are nasty. I wish I could take that motor and stuff it into a sporty 4-door AWD sedan, I would buy something like that in a heartbeat.

Cobra's take off like jets from a roll....they are also real nasty from a dig with all that lowend torque and some have solid rear ends.

My car isn't a launcher by any means but from a roll I can honestly hang with a lot...Cobras are tough tho.

I was surprised when I encountered a modded Evo in Phoenix. I don't know what he had done but I could hear his turbo spool good (intake), a blow-off valve, and he has at least a catback but maybe a downpipe. From 55mph or so I just wiped the floor with him...I was shocked. Apparently Evos (or at least this one) don't go from a roll that well...but I know they launch pretty good. Rotaries suck at launching LOL
