How Long is too Long?

Postby *DarthRX8* » Sun Jul 19, 2009 9:14

I have only been away from my 8 for about a week (deployed to Iraq) and I am already having withdrawls.

My DD right now is a late 90's toyota landcrusier and it just isn't the same.

The only good news is the extra money I am making will support more mods. I will be back in November and cannot wait to get my 8 on the road again. Until then enjoy a drive for me while I am gone and remember to appreciate your babies, LOL! :D

must be nice... my daily driver for the past 11 months has been my feet, or the occasional ride in a M1117 or 1151. btw the withdrawls are gonna get much worse lol. i have like a month left and the only way i survive is being on forums every free minute.

My 8 isn't my DD so I don't drive her too often. I've gone a month or so inbetween having time to stretch her legs. But man that recalibrates the butt dyno! Nothing like hooping in my 8 after driving the F350 and Saturn for a few weeks and then experiencing the handling and power of my 8, it's great

With public transit, my car can end up sitting for a while between drives. However, I still go out in the garage to mess around with it somehow.

I'm not sure how you soldiers do it. My 4 month deployments are too long for me to be away from my FD, I end up having dreams about driving it or nightmares about something happening to it lol. I'm not exaggerating.

However it was down for about a year while the engine was blown from Mar 07 to Mar 08, and THAT turned me into a complete whiny bitch for that whole year lol.

Nearly two months without driving it when i got rear ended by dushbag KL. And then a few months later i could not drive it for a month because of my snowboard mishap. And even right now because of the front bumper getting messed up, its now at the collision center again and its killing me. Its only been 4 days an i am loosing my mind without it.

Lost my Ride for almost a year. A local Performance shop blew my engine and I fought with the insurance company for almost 9 months before getting a decent settlement. Then had to wait almost three months for delivery and install of the new engine. That frustrating nightmare was a little over a year ago. At the time I questioned whether fighting the insurance company was worth the heartache. But I'm over it now, no looking back ........only forward.
