New from the western slope with an FB

Postby Daddy » Thu Jun 04, 2009 9:14

I'm new to the forum. came over from rx7club.com

In January i picked up an 84 RX-7 to use as a daily beater. Started browsing forums and plan to fix the car up when time and money allows. Right now i have 3 other cars going so the 7 is going to have to wait a bit. I'll definitely be around learning what i can though!

current projects are:
2003 Civic drag car/daily. runs 100shot of nitrous
1990 CRX wife's drag car. turbo B18
1984 Accord. fixer upper. needs tranny swap then i'll prolly sell it.
1987 RX-7 daily driver. future project
2003 Yukon XL wife's daily and project hauler.

Here are a few pictures of the FB as it sits. definitely a little rough but i see lots of potential

and a very odd tail light conversion.

Haha yep! Ya it runs very well. i had to replace the clutch but other then that have had no issues. when i separated the tranny the clutch disc fell to the ground in about 100 pieces  it was definitely time for a new clutch ;)

I was just over there with my car over the week end.

We where trying to figure out what was with those tail lights. No idea why someone would do that.

I still don't know what is going on with the tail lights. it makes no sense to me. I don't think it'll be too hard taking them back to OEM though.

I'm going to need to pull off my tail lights so I can take a pic of what it looks behind them for you if you want.

Picked up that other RX7 yesterday. They're going to deliver it to the house for me tomorrow afternoon. save me having to tow it myself.

Its burgundy inside and out. Good glass all around. fully intact 12A engine (dunno if it runs or not), rear discs (which implies LSD), good dashboard and interior.

I'll prolly be selling the engine and rear axle. but we'll see how things go ;)

I actually just picked up another 7 with an untouched 12a. Not sure if it runs or not yet though.
