As all of you already know that the stock summer tires that come with the speed (speed3 in my case) is worthless in the winter/snow. My question is, what tires do you use in the winter (how much did they cost ya) and is it still on stock rims or do you have a winter set of rims and tires?
Summer is almost here, so I'll be set for awhile but I'm just getting prepared.
Tires question

I run a set of 225/40/18 Yokohama W Drives for dedicated winters. They cost me $800 for the set from Discount Tire two winters ago. Both winters so far i have ran them on the stockers. Though i would like to pick up a set of rims for my summers, and then will run the winters on the oem rims.

I do. And it sucks. They charge $18 a wheel, $1 and inch. So $72 plus tax.

I have 17's for Winter wheels with General Arctic Altimax's. The tires were $85/each at the base (matched Tire Rack) with no charge for mounting. Just keep your eyes peeled for extra rims on here. I got my 18's for $300, and put some Fuzion ZRi's on those for non-winter. I sold my OEM 17's for $400+, and still have a set of 17's that I use. I traded for them after I sold a Saab. Just work some deals! LOL

Don't waste your money on all season tires. If that's you on that bike, you should know how important tires are to a performance car. just as important as good tires on the bike. Unless you're not using your MS3 as it should be used, you'll be cheating your self by using all seasons. They won't perform in the summer like high performance tires will, and they won't do nearly as good in the winter as snow tires will. Most cost effective solution would be to get some cheap steelies and a set of Hankook iPikes or some other low cost snow tires.
