I used new gaskets. Would a vac leak make my car do this? I thought it would just idle funky not shoot up to red and stay there revving by itself. I am going to take it apart again I hope thats all it is is a vac leak. thank you for helping me out man I appreciate it!

I had a throttle body gasket one time rotate on me- there was only one stud to hold it on the intake manifold which caused it to rotate about that stud. I didn't realize it at the time and when I started the motor, it went straight to red line and in a hurry.

Hopefully it's just something simple like this that got over looked.

Well I go tmy car started and it was the IM bracket on the back that was not letting it seal propperly. but now My BOV is not opening and the car does not feel like its boosting even though the gauge is reading it. I am also leaking coolant its dripping on the cat. where could this be from? my vac is reading like 9 or 10 where as before it was reading 16-18 (altitude). I replaced the coolant lines to the throttle so I know there not leaking. could it be the throttle is leaking coolant? is that possible?

You sure you hooked them up? Maybe the hose popped off or just isn't seated properly. I guess it's possible the TB itself is leaking since there is coolant flowing through it, but unless you dropped it or did some crazy boring and got into the water jacket, then I would highly doubt the TB itself is leakng.

Update...
Ok so I didn't clean the throttle good enough so I had to buy a new gasket. that fixed the leak and now it starts up no cell and pulls pretty good. I gained about a half a lb of boost but its still reading around 12-15 on vacuum instead of the 16-18 so I may have a tiny leak somewhere. But I am just glad its running and those motor mounts are going to take some getting used to for sure! Thanks Tom for all the help!

are the motor mounts that still over stock cause i just ordered a set from protege garage and it does not come with the pasangers side one just the other three so was wondering if the 88 are too stiff should have got the 70 but cant really do anything about it now they are on the way

Glad to hear you and your Ride are back on the road again. When you say "take some getting used to" are you talking about cabin vibrataion?

Some have claimed that the vibration deminishes once the mounts get settled in.

yeah the cabin vibration is a bit crazy but I heard the same thing, that they will break in over time. its a good thing I did them though cause my rear and front mount are trash. the sides were fine though. I almost gave up on the rear mount cause it was such a b$%#@ to break those bolts loose.

Thats what I have (the 88s) its not horrible, like I said will take some getting used to.

When the weather is cold, the mounts will be pretty harsh. As the engine and weather warms up, they aren't as bad. And over time, I think they do get better as they break in some.

did the 88 's come with the passangers side or not cause i was reading and it said inserts and i do not need inserts so i ordered another one with the set

I'm almost sure some of my mounts are trashed. Especially with the stiffer coilovers. I'm still undecided on what manufacture to get.
