My 6 Is Mirror'less

Postby zoomzoom6 » Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:14

Hey guys. Sunday morning around 5am a group of individuals set out to vandalize some cars, mine being one of them. My car sits in an underground parking garage. Both mirrors were smashed off along with some damage to the drivers door around the door handle. Out of the 15-20 cars that were hit mine happened to have both mirrors smashed off. As you may have guessed I'm not too happy with this and missed an important meeting because of it that has to be rescheduled to the fall. If I find out who did this I believe a monkey wrench would be sufficient. I'm now dealing with the insurance company to get it fixed. I've shopped around and have found replacement mirrors for roughly $70 a piece, which isn't too bad I guess. Luckily they kicked the mirrors off and the painted side of the mirrors is unscathed and can be salvaged which will save me money on getting the mirrors repainted. Just thought I'd let you guys know. I'll post pictures as soon as I download them off of the camera.

So sorry to hear about this! I bet it sucks, and I hope the insurance agency will help you get this resolved quickly.

I thought this was going to be some retarded "shaved my mirrors off" mod. LOL. Turns out it is some stupid ass punks messing with shit that they can't afford. I never understood the point of vandalizing a persons car. You never mess with someone's food, significant other, or car!

I hate Boulder and can not wait until i graduate next year to get my car out of this fing city. A number of cars over the years have been broken into, vandalized and even stolen in the very parking garage i park in.

I'm sorry to hear you fell victim to worthless assholes. If the police don't find them, i hope karma does..

Wow sorry to hear that. I know how it feels. I've had my drivers side mirror ripped off and stolen before with damage to the door. It happened in that 2 month period where 3 different people crashed into me and provided me with money for my body kit and gandor mirrors.

Update:

So spoke to the insurance company today and was able to have someone get me a quote. Total came out to be around $1,200 dollars in total when counting both mirrors and the door damage including paint and labor. My father came and picked it up after the quote and drove it down to Highlands Ranch where it will spend it's remaining hours wounded. The insurance place wants me to take it to this body shop I've never heard of but I personally would rather it be taken to Southeast Auto Body, as they do phenomenal work. Just thought I'd give you guys an update.

Make sure you come to an agreement with your INS. about where you'd like it to go. I wouldn't just let them "tell" you that it needs to be fixed at their preferred shop.

Oh I know. We are going to go to Southeast Auto Body and get a quote and then see if we can come to term with the insurance agency and go there instead. It's in the works. It'll just take a little time which is irritating. I shouldn't even have to be dealing with this.

The Fischer Chevrolet/Honda dealer here in Boulder. I don't know about you but I'd rather Southeast Auto Body work on it.

Yeah i would for sure say no. If it were me i would take it to Mcdonald Automotive Collision center in littleton. Its a Mazda, Audi, VW body shop. But i'm certain this Southeast place is just as good.
