MS6- How low can we go?

I've got a friend who's in love with a Mazdaspeed6 Grand Touring with Nav. The dealership wants $20,000 for it, but we'd like to get him in one for no more than $12,500 before tax. Are we dreaming, or is this realistic with some serious negotiation? We'd pay in full up front, so I figure that's got to help, and the economy should play a factor. What do you think?

Try looking on websites for a one owner sale like ebay or cardomain or something

I know Bob Penkhus down in the springs sells them for a LOT cheaper than $20G's, but at the same time its not $12...something to look into tho!

I'd say for a GT with Nav, $15k is a good number.

I'd say the dealerships aren't hurting that bad for them to give it to you at that price.

Yeah. I'll tell u now good luck. Book doesn't always tell the story. I'll tell u there worth more than 12. And most dealers own them for more than 15 right now.

Plus the economy isn't hurting the dealers as bad as u might think most dealers were up for January

I grabbed my GT w/o Nav w/ 30k on the clock for 15300 from Penkhus back in Nov. Look around- they are cheap out there. Many of the 06 leases are returning (like mine), most are rolling thru the auction in the 12-14k range... Good luck in your shopping!

Yeah. The car market was very soft around nov oct time frame. Cars are worth more now then they were then. Even with the year change

I paid around 18k for my MS6, and it is not the grand touring plus i traded in an old car haha... I don't see how you could get a nicer one for 12k. Maybe like 16k or 17k but that would still be a ridiculous deal. They are pretty hard to find though and when you do find them they get bought quick, so good luck!

Paying up front won't help either. The margins these dealers operate on are next to nothing and make more money when you do finance. You are better off getting a loan and then paying the entire thing off.
