I put Kinetik batteries in my car, even left the lighgts on once and the car still started. I try to stay away from cheap batteries. THey are small, light and extremely high powered. My starting battery is 1400 CCA with over a 100 minute reserve time. Get something like that and you'll not be coming out to dead batteries.

Mk, well I am not 100% sure what brand they are throwing into mazdas nowadays but I am pretty sure that they are using panasonics in them. Which is a pretty crappy battery, that will be the equivalent of a everstart or an autozone battery. I don't know how in depth people want me to get on batteries but I can tell you what options you have when it comes to batteries. I just need to know what you want to get out of a battery and how much you want to pay. There are some options out there for full replacements for 5, 6, or even a 7yr period. No prorate, no questions, just a free battery if it dies in that time period. As for that kinetic battery, I haven't really dealt with them alot but I know that they are pretty pricey and they have alot of CCA in them. You only need 1 CCA for every Cubic Inch of the engine at 0 degrees. So 1400 CCA is way overkill, this can be a good thing though as the battery dies over time it will produce less and less cca which means that when the battery is at half life it will still have a good 500 or so CCA. That is, if the battery slowly dies and doesn't just short or freeze or whatever.
I can tell any of you what battery options you have if you just let me know what you want out of and what you expect to pay for a battery. I can also have a few fall off the truck every once in a while as a promotion. So if things are tight and its a need situation just give me a hollar.
Seriously though if anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I can get into the nitty gritty if yall want. I will start with the basics. When you buy a cheap crappy battery, usually like a napa or a everstart they are made by Exide. Now Exide is actually a fairly respected company over seas but here in the USA they mainly just source cheap shitty batteries so they don't need to focus on quality control and they do more of the quantity not quality side of things. Now having said that, it doesn't mean they couldn't be commissioned to make a good battery; it just means that really all in all they don't make a good battery. These batteries that Exide Technologies produces are 99% of the time a Lead Antimony battery, the problem with lead antimony is that it is cast which means poured into a mold. This causes small air pockets in the metal which decreases the strength of the metal. Corrosion starts on a battery the second that water is added to it. (true with lead calcium and lead antimony and silver calcium and 100% lead) <--main types of materials used in batteries. Another problem with lead antimony is that at very low temperatures its properties cause it to change from a conductor of electricity to a resistor, this increases the resistance that is already in a battery. When this happens you cause even more heat from the friction. With the underhood temperatures getting up there anywho, you can cause a battery to boil dry. A true maintenance free battery won't really every boil dry (it takes almost 10X the amount of energy). When you have a battery with the caps on top, that allow you to check the fluids, it is almost guaranteed to be a non maintenance free battery. If it is a sealed battery then it is a maintenance free battery........I don't know how much of this you all want to learn but making sure you understand you don't want a lead antimony battery is a pretty big deal. Interstate among others, uses a "hybrid" setup where every other plate is antimony and in between is calcium (<---my favorite). That is usually a pretty good deal and it will act like a maintenance free battery for the first few years but after that it will die like a regular battery that needs maintenance. All of the batteries that I sell (for the most part) are lead calcium-calcium. Which means that both plates or made of Lead and calcium this creates a truly maintenance free battery but my costs are alot higher than just an autozone battery. You get what you pay for..........Ok woman wants me to go to bed. Quick sidenote though. The more plates there are the more cold cranking amps there will be. The thicker the plates the longer the reserve capacity. So there is a happy medium to be reached you just have to decide what that is. I will check this post in the morning and try to monitor it steadily but my child is in town this week and I can't zone out in front of the computer like usual. Anywho I hope this post was somewhat helpful and not too rambly......haha if anyone even read the whole thing
Most the people I train don't every really grasp the whole idea so its not a big deal.
