I simply prefer the long range detection of my V1, and the arrows are useful. I've had a cop come from behind running Ka, and I've known he was back there the whole time instead of looking for him in front of me.

I guess I'll throw one more into the mix....
K-40. I have an 8500 Escort and have used the V-1, but I have experienced earlier warning times with the K-40. You really can't go wrong with any of the above.

Thanks for all of the information! As with most important things in life, it boils down to... "tastes great" or "less filling" :)

Simply put...either the V1 or any of the Escorts (8500, 9500i, 9500ix, etc.) are going to be a great buy. Anything less, such as a Cobra, are not worth the money.

Yeah, UM, V1 hands down. No questions. : )
[font=Arial Black][size=100]Roadrnr06 was my leased 2006 Speed 6 which was purchased on 06-06-06. I have many fond memories of that car, and will be keeping my original profile as a memory of the great car that I once had.

My new user name is Roadrnr09 and showcases my new 09 Subaru WRX which I am very happy to have purchased as a replacement vehicle : )

:1a98aa81:+1 on the V1...just installed mine this afternoon and I already love it. The situation awareness is worth every penny. Hey Andrew, Josh told me you have a document that tells you how to tweak the settings to silent the K's? If so, can you shoot me a copy?

The info is on the Valentine site. I wouldn't do it though without undoing it for road trips.

I looked, and can't find anything on the V1 site. You have a link to info?

So today was my first spirited run with the V1 on board. I had to fly to L.A. for the day so my drive from Arvada to DIA was all of 25 minutes each way. I was getting freaked out because it hardly ever went off the whole trip out and back other than a K blip by Safeway on 70 and a few other K's here and there. Then it screamed at me coming around the bend by the blue Bronco on acid as you reach the main entrance  I slowed down to the limit and was thinking it was false from the Airport doors but then I realized it was Ka. Sure enough, I came around the last little bend into the West parking gate and sure enough two Bogeys are sitting right there. I just smiled and rolled by them at 45.
