Hello from a new Mazdaphile...

Postby ~Barn~ » Tue Dec 02, 2008 9:14

What's up everybody.

My name is Brandon, but feel free to call me Barn if that's easier. I got turned-on to the site from member "Bertha", who is also a longstanding member of the Colorado Sportbike Club. (Thanks Josh).

He actually saw a post that I had put up on the CSC wanting "RX8 Wheels", and suggested that I come check ya'll out. I'll go scan through the For Sale threads and see if anybody out there has some OEMs for sale, but in the meantime, just figured I'd say hi.

I recently purchased a new-to-me Speed6, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. My other ride is getting up in years, so rather than driving it into the ground, I picked up the MS6 as a second suitable "Colorado Car", with a fun sporty edge to it. I think I hit the mark dead-on!

Take it easy, and I'll see you guys and gals on the flipside!

Thanks for the welcome, Chris.

Josh, I'll check out those other sites too. I maybe have a lead on set, via eBay, but I'll see how that pans out. Dude wants $110 in shipping!

Well, the car is a 2006 in Black Cherry Mica. I actually didn't really groove on the color when I first saw it. It was on the lot at McDonald Mazda, and at night.

Under those ultra bright fluorescent car-lot lights, all I could think was "Damn! This car is fuggin' Purple!".

After awhile though, it started to grow on me, and when I saw it out under the natural moonlight, it looked lightyears better. Nearly black, but you could tell that there was something else there.

Anyway, the car is loaded with everything but Nav, but I don't care for those systems anyway. (I actually pride myself on being able to get around with a little know-how!). Miles are in the mid 20k's, and I got it for sub $20,000 OTD.

As of now, the only mod that I've done is taken it from show-room shiny, to completely awash with seasonal roadspray. The interior is still gleamin' thankfully. :D

Other than that, I have a VG fin antenna that arrived last week, but I haven't gotten around to putting it on yet; snowy weather and all.

I haven't taken any pictures of the car yet, but once I get that antenna put on, and make a visit to the carwash, I'll snap some!

Next to Blazing Yellow Mica, I think Mazda's Black Cherry Mica is Hot.
Looking forward to the pics.

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive it.

Nice! Thanks for linking me. I'm actually watching a set on eBay right now too, and although I'm expecting to get outbid any second here, I'm in the lead at $380.00

And oh yeah.... MSP was asking for a picture. I just snapped this one, a couple minutes ago.
