What U Think!.....$10 DIY Lip

Postby Gmoney » Wed Oct 29, 2008 9:14

Found a how to on Mazdas247 and figured it was the best way to kill my morning.

Home depot and $10.64 later this is the result. Looks actually good IMO.

Just used the garage door foam rubber seal, some 3M tape and screws/washers.

That's pretty funny. Cheap, easy, and no lip breakage to worry about. Unless a dog starts chewing on it or something.

I have been wondering about this thing for some time, I still am unsure about the looks, but that is just personal style. I like the idea of a $10 mod though.

So far it handled a 100mph on my way to work, and a car wash. Only time will tell on the longevity of this mod(Colorado winter????). As for the ends I will try to take pictures tomorrow. It is literally foam core with a more rigid rubber like compound molded around it. It seems you could do this on any car....I was unsure about it when I first saw it, but said what the heck....it was a nice day, lets try it...........It is growing on me......Greg

Looks good! My friend did this mod on his FC and it has held up very well. His car is slammed to the max and the lip has survived driving through Denver for half a year now.

i like it alot, especially since i just had to remove the stock piece the other day to install my intercooler.. this could help replace the void..
