New shift kit
New shift kit
Just got done ordering the Axial Flow Shifter for the 8. Heard it was a good shifter, and was only $280 so i couldnt turn it down. Now i just gotta figure out how to install it when it gets here. Anybody got any suggestions or know if its a pain to get in?

It's easy. The included instructions are good too.
Basically, remove shift knob, pop off center console cover. remove 2 screws that hold ashtray in. There are a couple of slide clips connecting some wires that you'll have to pop off (unrelated to the shifter, it's just plastic clips the are keeping wires running through the console in place). Then it's 4 nuts to remove the inner shift boot plate. 4 more nuts to remove the retainer plate over the shifter itself. And it just lifts out. Slide the new one in, and you're good to go.
Granted, that's the abbreviated version. it really is pretty simple. If you know how to operate a phillips head, and a socket wrench, you're good to go.

Let me know or us how it feels. I thought about getting one, but opted not to because I thought the throw was semi nice for stock.
BTW, anyone have a stock shift knob they want to get rid of for cheap? I bought an aftermarket one, but want my stocker back on now.

Ill deff let you know. I called Axial Flow and they said the shifter was in production so i should see it here in about 2 weeks. What kind of shift knob do you have? My buddy is lookin for a new shift knob so i might be able to arrange a swap.
