one of my GSLSEs had a "high flow" cat. It melted almost completly shut so you couldnt feel anything out the tail pipe. Things glowed cherry too.
but yea, Racing Beat does seem to make a long lasting muffler. Flow is another matter though.
overheating problem?

i drive it back and forth from fort carson everyday (50 miles for me), and when i turned off the car when i got home today it was sitting just below half way. i was thinking about just replacing the water pump to be safe anyway.

Dr. Chris says the car has a good bill of health. It is a nice clean car, one of the cleaner ones I've seen. It has a few small oil leaks but nothing to worry about. My guess is there might be a small amout oil splashing on the exhaust while driving. The oil leaks are the size of quarters.
