I still have mine. I have too much time into her to let her go. Too bad most on the road these days look horible. They really are a great car if you are not afraid to wrench on em. Hope to catch a meet soon. Unfortunatly my Mx is down for a bit while I fix apower steering leak, add boost, and standalone EMS. Anyway, here is a peak if you have any interest.

Oh....... the KLZE motor..... every naturally aspirated Protege's wet dream! That motor will drop into a Protege.

Very nice car. I've always liked the 2nd gen MX-6.

Thanks very much. I hope to have her running again soon. I did not know the Protege could take a KL. I need to learn more about the newer Mazdas. I have been in COPOC for a while but there are all first gens and mostely Probes. Built Ford tough with Mazda stuff as they say. I will let you know if\when I get forged intenals. I would be willing to pass the ZE along. If I dont throw a rod under 6psi ;). Any how, thanks again. Hope to meet everyone soon.

Just bought one

Postby coloradomx6 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:14

Just bought an mx6with the klde for 1200 in fairly decent shape 170000 on engine though so looking to find a second motor to build for a back-up or some fun. This is my first time messing with import tunning. I used to do a lot with classic American muscle. Just sold a 70 dodge adventurer with a 440 hp2 due to repair costs(spun the mains) and got this off a guy cause I heard they were a decent car. I must say I'm somewhat disappointed though ;P I topped out at 136... I guess it's time to get something to done to it, any suggestions?

the borla catback exhaust sounds amazing on the kl. cant think of too much to do to the 2.5 never got into that i always messed around the 2.0. just depends on what u want theres a thread on http://www.mx6.com that has a how to remove the governor, or basically put a switch inline between the ecu and wire so u can turn it off or on.:o

the klde responds VERY WELL to forced induction. i plan on boosting my klze on 7psi this summer, should be good for about 300whp. all on a chinese turbo kit :)

i own crows old car :P

they arent very good n/a up here. at sea level, people have ran low 14s with the klde, ive even seen a 13.8 on a klze at sea level.....
