No, I didn't ask if you would by A Viper. Dodge is considering selling the brand outright to leverage capital.

I think it's a good idea if that is what you are asking.

It's already a Dodge Viper. Would I consider buying it from another company, such as Hennessy? Sure, if I had the capital to buy one.

The question was"Would you buy Viper?". Dodge is selling the mark. Viper would no longer be a Chrysler product.

Oh...the topic just says "Would you buy a Viper from Dodge?", so I figured that meant, well, would I buy a Viper from Dodge! Haha. Not would I buy the Viper name from Dodge...that I definitely wouldn't do!

Does dodge still even make the Viper. A much nicer car then the vette yet I hardly ever see any. If I do they are either in Vegas as luxury rentals or older ones around here.

how do you figure its a nicer car than the vette?
a zo6 has more features than a srt 10. it is only slightly ....2 tenths of a second to 60 and 100 mph doesnt handle as good and costs 14 k more. not that i'll ever drive a srt 10 probably but i agree with car and drivers latest comparison of the 2

It just is. The ZO6 is by far the nicest looking vette that has hit production. It is nice but if you gave me the choice i'd take what looked like the nicer one. If you noticed I go more by looks over performance/handeling. I mean if I didn't mind ugly cars (the vette is not ugly mind you) and wanted to be "cool" I woulda got a STI or Evo. Or some other car that's faster than the 8. but the 8 is the nicer looking car to me and has the potential to be just as fast as those cars. so yeah I'll take slightly less handeling ability just to get the looks I like.

It's just my O but I think the Vipers have always looked better than a vette. (This is without taking into account the new vettes)

How do YOU figure? The Viper outperformed the Z06 in every way. Not by much, but a win is a win. The second place finish is because the little bitches in the magazines seem to think a strictly performance car should have more bullshit like cup holders, cruise control, navigation and sound insulation. Fuck that. This is a brute force, kick your ass sports car comparison, not a god damn contest to see who can be most like the Lincoln Mark VIII. Those magazines always do that shit...do a comparison on a very specific set of vehicles, but when it comes down to it, the win always goes to the car that has more features that have absolutely nothing to do with the main purpose of those cars.

Viper is the new King of the Ring

Would I buy Viper though...... doubt it. With how energy conscience everyone is right now, owning a brand that makes a pretty thirsty car isn't a very wise move right now. I would only buy it if I wanted to make a small fortune, but first I'd probably have to start with a LARGE fortune.

I have the new C&D in my hand. They GT-Rgot the highest score, and it is totally how Dommo said it was. The ONLY reason the GT-R got the highest score was the amenities section. It was flat out performed by the Viper, the Vette and the GT-2. Vette top speed:198 Viper top speed 180. The Viper is one tenth quicker in the quarter mile, 11.8 to 11.9 with the Vette. That's a close enough margin to be driver ability. Viper on the skid pad 1.08g, vette 1.03g. SO I'd have to say it's a split between the two overall. Prices of course would be a factor. Vette(ZO6):$72,125 Viper:$99,891. Give me the Vette and the extra money from the viper and the Vette will end up WAY faster. $20K is enough to put twin turbo's on it!

no to buying a viper, and buying it from another company won't sell me.

Didn't some company in India just buy Land Rover?

in many respects I have to agree with you there, so many cars out there (mine included) are modified for looks only.
still there are plenty of powerful performance cars out there I wouldn't touch as they are nasty.... yeck!
