Ahh.. what fun...

minding my own business picking up food from PF Chang's... leave a light to hear something on my far left spool up.. turbo beetle.. they let off after first gear, and i look over to see what i guess were two high school girls laughing hysterically.. I look over, give them the 'seriously?' look, shake my head and laugh, and modulate 2nd gear enough to pull ever so slightly up to the PSL... I get a smile and good laugh from them as a reward...

They turn and I stop at the next light, when a 4rd or 4th gen accord pulls up and starts revving.. three obvious high schoolers in the car.. front passenger rolls down the window.. and i say, "Are you sure you want to get whupped by a miata?' Driver says, 'yeah!' and keeps revving. cross light changes, so i bring it up to about 2500.. and the opposite turn signal turns green.. I drop the rpms and start laughing... driver leans forward and asks, 'is that thing boosted?' I say 'yup' just as the light turns and leave him well behind while short shifting at 5 instead of redline... up to about 55 (5 over PSL) and i shut it down... he pulls even and drops it down a gear, wanting to go again.. so i drop it into third (rpm sweet spot) and bring it up to redline, leaving him well behind again... he turned off, i'm fairly certain on his way to the Shell station...

so if anyone happens to be there tonight and sees the honda with the calligraphy on the windshield header, ask him about the miata...

LOL a Beetle AND a Honduh. You get the award for the week!

I was challenged yesterday by a dude in a Mustang GT. He was yapping on his cellphone at the same time. I ignored him. I'm too busy trying to save gas to respond to idiots in pony cars.

Oh Forgot to tell about mine. I had 2 this week. One was some tard in a neon. He followed me all the way from Speere and Univirsity pulling up next to me an pulling off. You don't do that no speere to many cops. Well i get off on 8th and head to 6th ave and I take the turn from kalamath on to 6th like a made man and he was way back. Well we get on 6th and around Federal he flies by me and then pulls up to me. Well after Sheridan I said ok just a littl run...so I tapped the throttle and he takes off so I floored it and bye bye. Silly neon. If it were an SRT4 I woulda no even tried.

The second was the next day on my way to the curise. It was a honduh. Well ti was on 6th again he got on from I-25 and was in front of me. For those of you that know that area if you go left you can take 6th straight up without worrying about the other people who are trying to exit on to federal or you can stay in the right lane and go slow and then get back on to 6th.Well I went around and avoided those peole exiting. The honda after getting stuck with the people exiting Speeds up and pulls up next to me when he finally gets back on 6th. Well it was funny cause after the first time he wanted to try again. So funny cause his GF was in the car to. I want to say he rolled the windows up for less air resistence.

Was turning left, following a Harley that was hauling major BUTT, when I heard a V8 start screaming behind me. Some woman in a late-90s Mstang GT was trying to pass me. She didn't have a chance, but what I noticed as I pulled away -- she had a MULLET! A FRIGGIN MULLET IN A MUSTANG!!!

Challenged today by a 2000-2002 Z28. Pulled up next to me at a light and revved. I had a decent (but not great) launch and had him by a car. Then missed third and he pulled past pretty easily. Then we both chickened out and backed off before even reaching the PSL. LOL. I got in behind him and he slowed to 10 under, waiting for me to draw even for a rolling start, but I declined and turned off. The game isn't worth the potential price any more.

I was challenged today by something I THOUGHT was a cop car. Turned out to be a 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder. He went flying by me on Briargate Blvd, probably doing 65 in a 35. Very obvious ricer fly-by. When I pulled up beside him at the next light, we both gunned it, but only for a few seconds or two before he turned off and I missed second gear and so on. I don't even think we got to the PSL.

Weird car. Looked like a blacked out crown vic at first, and I thought I was in trouble (I was a little over the PSL when I first saw him), but then I noticed his kid in the car with him.

Stealth why is it you get challenged more than anyone else on this board? Do you have a target on your car or what?

Good question. I wish I knew the answer to that. I assume everyone drives about as spirited as I do, judging by what I've read and seen.

Maybe I should take the Mazdaspeed badge off my trunk and see if that helps.

Could be the HIDs...I've heard that tends to get attention.

Misses more gears than anyone else on this board also. Maybe you should race less, and learn to shift better Stealth ;-)

Seriously, how can you "miss" gears so often? Just curious, but I can't remember missing a gear since I learned to drive, and that was a Chevy P/U with 3 on the column with a clutch that weighed more than me.

If only they made an autocrapic for the MS3/MS6 ;p
