I was thinking since you want to do a model per month.
Why not do the models per the month of the model numbers:
Speed3 - March
Mazda5 - May
Speed6 - June
RX-7 - July
RX-8 - August
CX-9 - September

Other models mixed in there as needed like protege, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-7, etc.

I like that idea. i am not sure how many Non-mazda members actually post but if there are a few we should consider them as well. The few that i can think of are as much a part of the family as any of us. Just an idea.
05 RX-8 RB revi (ram air) intake. ACT prolight flywheel. Clutch Masters stage 1. Axialflow short shifter. Tinted windows.
255 (f) Dunlap 275® Bridgestone

If no one minds that could be cool. We would get Nissan Dave in there. Other members non-Mazdas to on one page of the calander and lable it members non-mazdas. I don't see a problem with giving up one month for that especially when we have 14-15 months to compose.

Edit:

Also we Could have a month built up of pics from meets we've had also.

Ashliegh (Storm) Has done some searching on pricing for these Calanders and some research on companies and what is all possible. I'll update the first post with prices we have so far with whichever is the best and most reasonably priced.

Don't forget older cars, too. Something like:

January - Whatever's newest for the model year. Maybe the 09 models?
February - Maybe the AWDs in the snow
March - 3s. Both regular and Speeds
April - Tribute maybe?
May - 5s
June - 6s, both regular, speeds, 626s, 666s, etc
July - Rx-7s and CX-7s
August - Rx-8s
September - CX-9s
October - Maybe a mix of dark colored cars in a scary setting
November - All the SUVs out in the mountain autumn colors?
December - Maybe a photo from a meet...preferably with snow?

Also, if we can get dealerships to sponsor a bunch of extra copies, maybe they could give them out during test drives, purchases, etc.

Seriously can't make everyone happy..

Jimmy thank you for taking this on i know its a thankless job trust me lol. I'll support whatever you come up with. Not everyone is gonna be happy even if you get Mazda's from the 80's and 90's in there somehow.

Jimmy create a rough draft if people want to add in 5 different types of cars and somehow make it look good let THEM do that. IF it looks good then incorporate it.

Easy, Josh. I think we're all just throwing out ideas here, not trying to bully Jimmy into anything.

I know Chris, I know. I'm not trying to come across defensive / offensive. Its just easy to throw idea's out there but the amount of time Jimmy has spent on club stuff is astronomical. Probably more than I. Just trying to say in a rough way I suppose if you have an idea try to MOCK it up and give it to him. Do something more to help so he doesn't spend all his free time doing it.

I'm not trying to come across harsh just a very long day at work going back and forth.

I am going to put a mock calendar together and order it to use as a sample. If anyone has ideas for the layout, make one up and send it to me and I will incorporate it into the calendar. I liked the idea about putting interesting facts on there as well. If you have any, please send them to me too. Please make sure the photos are at least 300 dpi, but can be more.

Couldn't reply before cause I was getting ready to leave but Every idea is welcome. We will try to get everything in there. From what I know is that there are 2 options for calanders, 12months or 18 months. Price is the same no matter what we choose I think. So we will have 18 months and probably start the Calander in DEC 08 and end 18 months later. There is a chanee to get everyone and everything in.

Ashleigh has been a big help and we will be getting a mock calander together to have a look of quality and how it will eventually look like. I will be sending her some pictures to use today and/or tomorrow. Please keep suggestions coming. We still need some locations for the shoot and which cars to take to those locations.

Are there any southern CO photographers that can take shots down here? Then we can put them on a DVD and get them to Jimmy. Red Rocks, Pike's Peak, and PPIR would be great places for shoots down here.

That would be a good idea but Red Rocks is up here. ;) Seeing as most the 8's are down there we could make a meet out of the shoot. That way we mix all regions in. Do we really want to segregate the Springers from the Denverites?

If you all want to do a shoot for individual Thumbnail photos that would be good and save time.

Update. I know that this project should have been started mebe a month or two ago but we can still do it. In this month I'd like to get the Spring and Summer months done and over with. We need to decide which cars will occupy them and need people to help pick spots for the shoots. We will need about 6 different shoots done for this. I want to have atleast 3 main cars for wach month for each pic but then have 5 (mebe 6) thumbnails. Thumbnails preferably at different locations than the main Pic. So we will need to start sign up lists for the months. Who want their a Thumbnails and who will be in the main pic.

Once we decide which cars will be in which month I will start a separate thread with the sign up list. I also encourage those that want a thumbnail to come to the shoots that are not for their specific vehicle. That way it will be a different location than the main pic. If you want a thumbnail and have a cool picture already and the size is big enough we could mebe use that to.

Also Ashleigh has been kind enough to help out with gettin things done and has ordered a sample calander for us that will be here sometime next week. When we are ready to order the main one the cost will be about $14 each IIRC for 101+ Calanders. Is there enough intrest that we will be able to get rid of all of these?

I'd buy one- I also think it was a good idea to get Burt involved$ :710ebeb: Too bad you couldn't have these in time for the birthday bash....that would be helpful in getting rid of that quantity-
