2009 Mazda6 Reviews
I heard about the new '09's coming when I bought my M6 last month and was debating about waiting for them to hit the showroom.......boy am I glad I decided to get the current model. I'm not liking the new body and interior...but I do like the new engine and transmission combos though.

Autoblog had their first drive. Not a very impressive review, overall. I strongly disagree with them stating the previous generation Mazda6 was "painfully boring".

Too bad Mazda's Amati never came to fruition. Then they could bring over the Euro 6, a la the Euro Accord/Acura TSX.
Seriously now......it looks like a Lexus. They turned the 6 into a car for old people.[/b]

I had a 2009 6 in my show room yesterday and it was not bad looking in person. The pictures online make it look bad, but I'm still buying one after seeing it. And people are right about it being an 'old persons car' (or like the lexus). The mazda rep kept saying 'this feature will appeal to the older buyer'. But I liked all the features he was talking about so I must be getting old. The one I had was a loaded GT in V6 (or course it was auto), was only missing Sirius.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and do a pseudo analysis without doing any fact checking.
The majority of buyers of the 6 were people cross shopping the camry and accord and altima, but chose the 6 for the price differential. Their expectation was that for a Camry or and Accord, not for a 6, as it was originally designed. Thus, their satisfaction surveys said too small, or not luxury enough, and that was the majority of the opinion that was taken into account when the redesign team took their hack at it. If they had collected a statistic as to why they bought the 6, they'd see 'value compared to competitors', not 'zoom-zoom', and all that it entails....
just thinking out loud here.. i mean, from a stockholder perspective, they need to cater to their bread and butter. when enthusiasts are only a fraction of your sales, it doesn't make good business sense to cater to them.

you make some sense there sir, perhaps that's a good sign since people were considering the 6 alon with the larger import brands. I on the other hand prefer the smaller, sportier styling of the 6 and that is why i picked it in the first place....if I wanted a land yacht I would've borrowed jimmy's town car.
oh and jimmy stfu!!!
