anything over 4.3-5k and you're just entering ricer territory. Looks cool...kinda. But your light output decreases for the sake of blue color.

So you're saying that Lexus, BMW, and all the other luxury brands are RICERS???.....on average they use 6k to 8k...... :368a3915:

I wouldn't say they look like ricers but to each their own I guess. As for the light output decreasing, that's not true. An 8000K kit will light up the streets like a damn christmas tree. 10 times brighter than stock on any given day. No comparison.

It is true, 5k is about the peak for brightness, once you go past that, you are decreasing brightness due to blue color, Im not saying 6500k isnt bright as hell, its just not as bright as 5k

Where do you come up with your average number?

And the OEM lighting equipment those vehicles use is way better quality than anything you're gonna get on eBay. It's all designed to work together. The ballasts, bulbs, projectors, light shields. Lexus doesn't just use random pieces of equipment from online companies. If an Audi has lights that are rated at a certain number, they're gonna have way better light output than buying a cheap kit that's rated with the same number and put into a Mazda projector housing that was designed for a H4 halogen bulb.

Seems about accurate: Kelvin rating and corresponding lumen output:

3000K = 4000lu
4300K = 3200lu
6000K = 2900lu
8000K = 2450lu
10000K = 2200lu
12000K = 1800lu

The higher the K scale the lower the light output will be.. As in this last post. :6d687e6b: it shows you how many Lumens of light your getting with each K rating.. And there for this is why your getting different color of light aswell.. Yes the perfect amount of light is right between 4500k and 5000k.. If you go higher you will start to get a blueish tint to your light which inturn causes you to have a lower light output. when you go lower such as the 3000k level you now have a YELLOW light output. Yes its bright,, but,, its YELLOW.. So Ideally if you wanna get a HID kit for having its light output abililty and you can actually see the road, I would stay in the 4500 to 6000 range. But if you want it more for just looks then you can go the route of 8000 and up.. But keep in mind, when you start getting into the 8000 and up range your lights will be pretty damn blue and that will cause more of an attraction to the PoPo's and that could land you a ticket..

Those chinese knockoff are just as good as the brandname ones imo. I've bought McCullogh years ago when those HID kits used to cost $500+, and I don't see the reason why one should shell twice the price for a product that is nearly as identical. I know name brand matters, but what's the point of buying brandname HID conversion kit when you can't afford a retrofit?

Ya you can buy cheap stuff like that :6d687e6b: but you have to remeber you get what you pay for.. The best deal out there really is going with APEXCONE cause they offer the life time warranty.. I have the 35watt 5000k kit and I have used the warranty before to replace a bad ballast.. Trust me, its a good peice of mind to have that... When I bought mine they were selling at $255 for the kit.. Now you can get them for $185...[/b]
