Got a MS3 a couple of months ago. Long time Subaru fan, still am but no longer willing to pay the price. Actually got our MS3 after heading off to Arapahoe Mitsubishi to pick up a new EVO. Good old "Dealing Doug" gotta be the worst dealership experiance I have ever had. $38,000 for a new evo that had a cheesy body kit on it and a set of rims anyone could pick up for about $600 off ebay. I think they just think every customer is a complete idiot that walks in the door.
As far as a trade in at first I got the vibe they did not think I had a 2004 STi to trade in heck we drove the wifes hummer, that what I call a "Clue". STi is Aspen white 64,000 no dings no nothing wrong, when we brought it in they said it was worth $13,000 to them!
So off we went to Burt Subaru. Totally different experiance. Polite, and respectful but I could not get myself to quite put me name on the line on the new STi they had for $36,000+ and the biggest problem was it was Blue. I am a Black or White type guy. On the way home we stopped by Mcdonald Mazda. They had some CRAZY deals on new 07 RX-8's so off we wnet for a test drive. Ok so its a great car but the transition from STi to RX-8 is a very big drop in the fun at the go pedal meter. When we got back the sales man mentioned that a 2008.5 MS3 sport in Mica Black had just rolled of the truck and was sorta soldish to someone on the net.
He let us take it for a test spin. 10 Minutes later the deal was made. And i got the MS3 for $21,800. Had to perform CPR on the wife since we had just saved about $15,000 in like 2 hours, i think she had some sort of stroke that I actually had not purchased a car that I had been talking about for over a year "The Evo or STi" Icing on the cake was when the Manger pulled my credit he noticed I had a 2007 Jetta 2.0T, asked if I wanted to get rid of it since their VW store just the day before had a serious customer that could not quite afford a brand new Jetta 2.0 in black. Mine was black and they bought mine for the exact payoff $19,600. LOL sweet!!
Pics below.
Gotta say never looked at a MS3 prior and this has to be one of the best bang for the buck cars ever sold in the U.S.
So if you know anyone that wants a damm nice Aspen white 2004 STi let me know. Numerous mods on the suspension and turbo back, stereo etc for about $20,000.
Let the MODIFICATIONS begin!!
Too many toys!! STi has to GO!!
