I just saw a 92 GTI for sale for pretty cheap. I've heard VW parts are pretty pricey but how pricey are they compared to 7 parts? and how reliable are they? I just want it to drive to work and back and occasionally camping.
so, let's hear it. Good or bad.
Looking for a daily driver

I just checked Blau, and yes there are 12v's. But regardless, the 1.8 na was a good motor. Of course like all other vehicles, the previous user maintenance is important.
For a cheap DD I'd look at a Mazda, 'Yota, Honda etc.... Cheaper parts, and reliable.
lol. okay well anyway it's a 1.8L/ 8v...[/b]

Get a Festicle (Festiva) and you can get a turbo kit uber cheap for them. Many people actually Auto X them and track them. No joke.
How about a motor cycle?
Yeah. I know. But they're all ugly for under a grand. I was going to get a geo metro and put a suzuki swift turbo motor in it but i just don't think that i can rock a geo... Although I think it would still be funny to spank people in a geo, i can't force myself to do it.[/b]

lol i thought about that too. but i'd rather have a geo over a ford festiva.
and i would get a motor cycle but i don't trust other people on the road and insurance would fail.[/b]

I friend in highschool had a turbo 4 T-bird back in the day. That was a fun car. Another friend had a festiva that we used to go 4 wheeling in. The the rock were to big to go over we would pick the car up over them.
