I've had my Mazdaspeed CAI in SRI ever since Josh sold and installed it for me... and have had no problems!

Think you can take me now Eric? :D

I'm with RMSpeed6... lower IAT's should give you more power in theory, if your car was NA, in theory, you should have lost power (even if only a negligible amount) ... but then again, there's more to it than that on a turbo car, seeing how the ambient air from the intake is sucked into the turbo, where's it's compressed, which heats it significantly, and is then routed through the intercooler where it's cooled significantly.... some say, on a turbo car, the efficiency of your intercooler is FAR more important than the placement of your intake filter.

Although, with less piping, SRI's typically give slightly better throttle response. Extra power felt could be attributed to a number of things, especially with the MS6's timing crazy ECU. Odd that you would see an increase in boost though... if you're seeing almost 1psi of extra boost, there's no doubt, the extra power you're feeling didn't come from the SRI directly, it came from the extra boost the wastegate isn't bleeding off/turbo is pushing. Did you reset the ECU? What are you running for boost control? Any engine management device? If you're running a stock ECU, no boost control it might just be the BCS trying to readjust itself for the changes in the amount of piping that has to be charged by ambient air being drawn into the compressor housing?!?

Reset the ECU, and see if you can feel a difference. It should honestly be negligible on a turbo car with mild mods...[/b]

ecu was reset, there is no em yet, no boost controller,

I know when my IAT's are at 25-30, my car runs like dog shit, so too cold cant be good either...

I will say i didnt notice spikes in the 18's on the way home...(although I have the stupid stock bpv on right now, which I didnt have on earlier..) I can definitely feel a difference in that too, negative of course...I too think it was probably adjusting itself, i cant give an honest judgement until Friday, when I get my new bov in... but you are right, there is a noticeable increase in throttle response...not HUGE, but its definitely there. Im sure once my ecu relearns, it will be back to normal

I sent the Parts Flash over to Clark at Sill-Terhar today. First he had heard of it but he is checking it out and should have more information by noon tomorrow. I'll post up what he says but he did ask if I had the old setup still. not a good sign :)
