Huskies force you to keep a clean house. If you leave something out overnight (like last night there was a baggie that had some crumbs from some cookies in it left on the coffee table- this morning the bag was shredded). But they are pretty good dogs. The middle one (Dino) has had both of his "ACL" ligaments replaced with a nylon strap. The vet said that it was a fairly common issue for Huskies. Most Huskies like to run off when they are off-leash, but these 2 guys are fairly good about that.

I hear huskies are very high maintenance. I have a hard time keeping up with my 2 year old...having a husky would be insurance I'd go into the nuthouse soon. They're gorgeous dogs though! I love their eyes!!!

My buddy tore his ACL last winter. Poor guy was in so much pain. I think he likes drugs tho, after the surgery he gladly took the pain meds. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

And speaking of insurance and Huskies- while shopping for homeowner's insurance back in May when I was buying my house, one company asked if I had any dogs from their list (Husky was on the list) and if I had any children under the age of 12 in the house. I said yes to both and they said: "sorry, we cannot insure you." DOH! You wouldn't know it from these 2 but Huskies can be aggressive. My 2 are the 2 biggest push over teddy bears you could ever find.

As far as the high maintainence goes- the one the left sleeps outside about 95% of the time (unless it's raining) and the one on the right (he's like 9 or 10 now) likes to sleep inside at night. They aren't that high of maintainence, but if you don't keep them stimulated, they can get into trouble (digging, tearing up things....)

"The not-really-a-dog gizmo" is very convincing. How old is your lab?
