40th Anniversary RX8

Saw the new 40th Anniversary RX8 today. Not impressed. The 40th has got a badge, Fender strakes, Red Seats (Not the whole interior kit, just full red seats), and A new style of rims. Whoopty doo. Figured for a 40th anniversary of the rotary, The RX8 being the only rotary now, they'd put something performance wise to sweeten the deal. Maybe its me but seems like a let down for an anniversary model.

I'll go back to the dealership today and see if its been cleaned up. It still had the shipping vinyls on it last night.

IMO I don't like the Metropolitan Grey all that much....maybe it's just the image there. I'll have to see a better pic of it or see it in person. The Seats are (we need a puking emoticon) Brown. So ulgy. And actually they are Cosmo Red. Can someone say 80's. I tried to Google it and I kepr getting a white 8 with white inserts like normal 8's. Looks a lot better. Must be for Euro/Asian markets.

Anybody know where those wheels are from? The 2009 8.

Weren't people gaga over the metro gray MS3? Gray exterior/red interior has been a fairly common color combination for yeeeeeeeears. Personally, I wouldn't buy one, but I wouldn't throw up on it, either.

And yup, those are the wheels from the '09.

I like it, I saw the one up at Burt yesterday, and like Huzer... it's not bad (love the metro gray) not crazy about the interior, but that is the same interior color they had on the SP2.3 3 sedans...

I wouldn't buy one, I wish they would have done something performance with it though.

I dont mind the grey exterior. It looks ok but not thrilling. The interior seats are deff. disgusting. The accent kit looks a lot better.

I saw one they had at Gateway Mazda this morning. Not a fan of the badges (seems like only trucks should have fender badges these days), and the Cosmo Red definitely is more brown than red. I almost would've preferred the stock red that they have in the red/black interior. The wheels are ok, look like they do in the pics. They have the piano black trim on the steering wheel, too. Overall, it looks like...a gray RX-8. Oh yeah, the engine cover is painted silver, too.

One thing I did notice is the drop on my car. By itself, the car looks pretty stock. But around a stock RX-8, you can notice the drop of the MS suspension.
