My situation is weird... I'm in Kuwait and like to have everything waiting for me when I get home. So I need something that is going to fit in my front doors. I honestly don't like those pods.

EDIT:
Thoughts: MB Quart PVF 216

Also Opinion on having the AVIC-D3 run the components and a single amp running the JL 10W3V3?

Piss on online shop Local support those who will support you. MB Quart was king about 8 years ago before they got swallowed up by the big corporations. now they are just a great name with less then great products. I used to be a huge MB quart fan, was actually sponsored by them. now you couldn't pay me to put their speakers in my car.

Focal makes good stuff. Not a big fan of JL anymore, but I guess they still are ok, kind of the new Rockford in my opinion.

If you are looking for some door panels mod let me know when you are back in town I can definately get you taken care of.

I think your best bet on buying speakers and amps is to be able to hear them and audition them before you buy. We can all sit here and go rounds about what is best, but your ears will make the best choise for you. research what will fit your budget and then go out and listen to them. this is the only real way to know what you will like.

as far as pushing good speakers from a head unit, you can but if you want great sound you can do much better with a nice 5 channel amp or a 4ch and a 2ch or mono sub amp. also consider the size of your Z you do not really need rear speakers in that small listening area. you can do front and a sub and have more a more real stage and ambiance with less speakers. by doing this you can buy better speakers and amps because you need less.

I agree with doing only a good front component and the sub. However what do you suggest to run these three speakers amp wise? 2-ch & a mono or 4-ch and bridge 2-ch?? I'm pretty much sold on that rear corner sub with a JL 10W3V3. Unsure on the ohm rating since I'm not sure on what amp(s) to run.

Looking at Focal online I found:
- Focal 165V2 6-1/2" Component Speaker System
- Focal 165 A1 2-Way Separate System

Where is your shop located? Maybe I can stop by and have you install everything? Depending on installations fee of course.

my shop is my home currently. I am in Aurora. Let me know when you are ready and I will work with you on pricing.

I would go with either a 3 ch amp (there are very few of these around but there are a few in the higher end lines) or a good 4 ch bridged to the sub on the back end. the OHM rating on the sub needs to be decided after you have chosen an amp to make sure they will work together.

If you want to see pics of my work I should have my site up and running by the end of the weekend at http://www.mhsound.com

Bryan I sent you a PM.

I honestly would only like one amp. I could do two but I really want a stealth look.

Well looks like I'm gonna bite the bullet and replace everything... Been searching for some time and talking to different people/vendors. And so far this is what "I" like;

- JL Audio C5 6-1/2" Components
- JL Audio 10W3v3 subwoofer
- JL Audio 300/4 Amp
- Wicked C.A.S. Corner box (Click Me!)
- Various wiring

Still weighing everything out.

EDIT:

So this is what I ended up getting;

- JL C5-650 Components
- JL TR650Cxi Rear Speakers
- JL 10W3v3 Sub
- JL 500/5 (100x2 Components, 25x2 Rear, 250x1 Sub)
- 350Z Corner Box (Link)

Just need to pick up an amp wiring kit, RCA cables and speaker wire.

Car Toys Park Meadows did the install. I paid around 300 for the install with the dash kit and other random parts. The deck was 899.00 with a $200 rebate.

Check that mail-in rebate. I read they fine print and it says not valid if unit was purchase at Car Toys.

My stuff should be here Monday. Yeah!!! LOL Buddy and I will do the install ourselves. Just need to pick up wiring kit, RCA's, & speaker wire.
