List updated!

Like MazdaTom said, CO-5 will only be accessible up to the Summit Lake for a cost of $5, but it is quite a stunning drive up there.

Do you guys want to make a pit stop somewhere in Idaho Springs before we head towards the Summit Lake? or do would you rather eat somewhere in Evergreen? Personally, I think CO-103 is a very fun road, not sure if I want to tackle it with a full stomach [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif[/img]

Yeah, the drive up to Summit Lake is pretty amazing. My wife was trying to sit as close to the center of the car as possible as we were going up- she was on the downhill (aka CLIFF) side for some of it.

And remember, for those that have severly lowered cars, the road about 1/4 mile from the Summit Lake is damaged. I'm not sure how to describe it, but even in my wife's SUV, I was picking a good line to drive through it and driving VERY slowly- lots of sink holes and swells in the asphalt.

Have fun!

I was up there in my 3 earlier in the spring and it wasn't in great shape then either. Like Tom said, the fairly straight stretch between the last real switchback and Summit Lake was very uneven - take it slow!

I was doing 90mph when I hit the first bump on that stretch, my Miata was literally flying!

jk

It's pretty bad, but not that bad. My Miata has such a low ground clearance it can't make through most speed bumps without scratching the bottom, but I was just fine there.

No doubt it's fun. I hit it pretty good on the way up, too.. and forgot about it on my way back from the summit and hit it again. [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif[/img]

October 8, 2007 - The Mount Evans Road is Closed for the Season!!!
The Mount Evans Scenic Byway (road) was closed today for the 2008 season. The road will open on Friday, May 23, 2008. It may open earlier weather permitting.

http://www.mountevans.com/

I don't know if they mean the entire road or just from the Summit Lake on up.

Is anyone still up for this?

Mt. Evans road is closed for the season, but I believe CO-6 and CO-103 are still quite streetable around this time of the year.

I am still in if there are enough people willing do run this. My Miata is broken, but I just bought a truck <3
