Alright so I just got done talking with the colorado mazda rep, and things dont seem like there going to be so "great with the new 6."

Basically there still isn't anything offical from mazda, so take this as you want but so far this is what there telling us.

NO all wheel drive option. supposedly because of the new CD-3 platform, the underpinnings of the cx-9 cx-7 wont fix under the car, so there will be no option.

Sounds like last years 3.5 V6 from the Cx-9 is going to be used, probably right around the 260 hp 270 ft tq.

the car probably wont start to hit ground (sales) until late september, october. Basically we will be waiting on V6 versions probably a month after that.

The V6, may not be offered with a manual transmission either.

The car is "more agressive" looking then the Europe verision

REMEMBER!!!! THIS IS NOT OFFICAL FROM MAZDA YET. JUST WHAT THE TALKS ARE....

Well, you know what that means, dude. I'll be coming to see you about a Speed3 in March or April.

If what you say is true, Mazda screwed the pooch on the new 6. BAD moves.

Besides the lack of manual option, I really don't see what the big deal is. Unless the car weighs in excess of 3500 pounds, those are some good numbers out of the V6. And if I remember right, the styling on the new 6 isn't that bad.

the current gen 6 is a heavy car already. the next gen being bigger will probably be close if not more.

If I was going to get into a six-inch longer 6S, it was going to be AWD and be pushing the HP the current Speed6 pushes. Sounds like it'll just be another Camry the way it is. It'll be a 6-second-plus boat that won't fit in my garage.

I'm looking to down-size anyway.

Oh, and I want to get out of my 6 this spring, so Fall is too late.

mazda... some of there decisions dont make any sense to me.. why no speed 3 sedan? (it sells better... by a big time margin..)

Why no AWD 09 6..

why no AWD mazda 5 in america

Why no hybrid?

Why no speed RX-8, or at least something to get the power up there. Espically with the 09 coming with a "refresh"

ummm.. sometimes i wonder... i know there a small company, but when you've been around as long as you have and get outsold by Hyuandai, and kia.. something needs to change..
