Now don't get me wrong, cuz it seems like you think I'm saying the LS1 is better which is far from what I'm saying, I'm saying the LS1 is not a horrible engine. And you mean to tell me you figured out how a rotary worked all on your own? I'd rather not spend time typing out why an LS1 is good cuz someone's already said it better. Now I wouldn't do a FD swap either but it from a mechanical perspective that is beautiful. Rotaries have their place just like pistons have their place. If I was drag racing I'd take the V8 but for autocross I'd take a 13b. Not to say V8s can't compete in autocross. If you watch the SCCA E Production series there's a Trans Am, IIRC, that's holding it's own against mostly rotaries. I think the basic point I'm trying to make is there is no perfect engine and every engine has its place unless it came out of a Honduh :P

I didn't get smacked down. And i'm sick of arguing this but there are much better options for piston engine swap than a LS1.

You rag on these people who have piston engines, drive "faggy" camaros, and call us ricers but you sound just like them.

I was saying you sound just like them but with opposite wording. I thought that was implied...

I wasn't trying to smack down Laurel. Actually i agree with her to a point. but I have been a horsepower junkie for over twenty years. And I do think the LS-1 is a bad ass engine in it's application. But I think we are all forgetting that this is the Colorado MAZDA club.....we are all on the same team...

There is nothing wrong with a V8 I love my V8s. I would not put one in an RX-7 but I do appreciate the work it takes. My galaxie's 390 is not a HP motor only about 330 but it has over 450 ft/lb. I love the way when you hit the gas the drivers side of the front end lifts about 6". And I love setting off car alarms and drowning out Harley's with the deep rumble.

My RX-7 is by far the most fun car I have. It is like going the a go-kart track every time I step in the car. I would never want to make it into a muscle car and loose that.

I'm not going to lie when it comes to LS1s i'm a total hater. Especially when you're throwing them in originally rotary powered cars. I don't mind most piston engines. I just think they are better options for horse power and torque than a LS1.

It's not like i go around saying fucking redneck or douche bag to everyone just because they have pistons.
