Eyelids - Time To Get Them Sprayed

Body kits, bling, lights

My wife got me a pair of eyelids for christmas, it's approaching time to get them sprayed ready for install. They are black right now, but my car is white. I am a little worried about hundreds of black chips appearing from the usual Colorado roads pepper spray...lol.
Any ideas, or suggestions of how I can prevent chipping?

Too bad you can't clear bra 'em! I'd say you'll have to prime them anyway, a gray primer won't show as much through the white if it does chip.

If you want to do it yourself you can head on down to Allen Paint and give them your color code and ask for it to be put in aresol cans. It's kinda expensive but for 2 aresol cans and what ever is left in the 1 quart can you have touch up paint for around 40 - 50 bucks depending on the paint. While you're there ask them if they have a clear with hardener in a aresol can (forgot the name of it. It's 19.9 a can, you'll only need 1 can). If you get the right person they'll know what your talking about. If not tell them a freind has bought some from there before.

It holds up really well. I touched up my sideskirts and rearbumper last year because of the rocks lakewood and everyone else likes to throw on their streets and It's been holding up pretty well this season. Also My bro has used the Clear with hardner on his plow and for a month now it's been holding up really well.

I'm sure you can clearbra them. I don't see why not.

When I had my eyelids painted, I just took em to a local shop and they did it for $50 cash... they were a perfect match and looked damn good to until they flew off my car while doing 80 down I-25..

Wow. How do you apply them? Doublesided tape? You must have been pissed. You probably caused that one accident. Remember, that one where the chiuaua was found 1000 ft away from its car with the broken legs. Poor doggy. :72714a47: ....J/k :P

LOL, ya I wasnt a happy camper when I saw them flipping up over my hood and past my windsheild.. But ya, They were on there with the double sided tape that comes on them from the start.. But after a while the tape loses its hold, so I had to redo with some tape I got from home depot.. well as you can see, it didnt work.. I had them back on my car for less than 3 days before the came off.. So ya, basically when I saw them fly off, was basically seeing a $100 dollor bill flying away in the wind cause thats how much total they were to buy them and get them painted..
