He revved it and ran it long enough to burn all the assembly lube and Vaseline out. It even idled around 670. Now if I can just get it to run this way on the Adaptronic.

What does the adaptronic have over the PFC?

Have you checked the timing mark with the adaptronic ?. Is called zero timing

No, but I was planning on copying the settings on the Power FC like you said the other day.

For starters, I don't get fuel pressure with the Power FC lol. Plus the Adaptronic has way more capability.

I don't know anything about that lol. I'll have to read up on it.

What is the current situation of your car?

Also, what are those additional capabilities had by the Adaptronic?

I haven't worked on it the last few days. Last night I messed with the two ECUs and maps a little, but I don't believe I'll be able to make an apples to apples comparison of the fuel maps because the tables on each ECU are measured differently. So I can't just copy the numbers from the PFC over into the map on the Adaptronic. I haven't gone through to see if there are similar settings yet.

I don't remember everything, so I'll just copy it off Turblown's website and paste it lol.

This Adaptronic ECU is the most Advanced Plug & Play ECU on the market for the Series 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 Mazda Rx-7.This Adaptronic ecu uses VE Tuning, Fully Automated Injection Staging, and Adaptive Closed Loop Self Tuning. Combine all of these advanced features plus many more listed below with bar non tech support, quality base maps & wiring schematics, and you will be on your path to a properly controlled and tuned engine!. -Adaptive Close Loop Self Tuning is a system designed by Adaptronic to not only trim the fuel & ignition maps, but automatically edit the base values, and perform " self tuning ". The unit also does the same for idle control, and transient throttle( throttle response). See the YouTube video below for more information.
-Volumetric Efficiency Tuning uses internal algorithms to deliver a more accurate & linear tune twice as fast as millisecond tuning by combining injector size, injector dead band timing, swept cylinder volume, and RPM to calculate engine fuel demands. Some ECU brands advertise VE tuning, but they aren't compatible with staged injection found on the rotary engine. See the Youtube video below for more information
-Fully Automated Injector Staging means you never have to worry about tuning the injector transition again. This car be hard for novice tuners when there is a larger difference between primary and secondary injectors. No matter size injectors you have the Adaptronic does all of this flawlessly on its own. Multiple tuning modes including Volumetric Efficiency for accurate & easy tuning.
-Advanced Adaptive Fuel & Ignition Control including 100% configurable tolerances, loop gains, & conditions for automated AFR, IDLE, & Transient Throttle Control( Closed Loop Self Tuning).
-Full Sequential Fuel & Ignition Control- Direct fire capable( 4 individual coils), and Individual Rotor Injector Trim
-OMP & Stock Sequential Twin Turbo Control
-Internal 4 bar MAP sensor for engines running as high as 40 psi of boost.
-Advanced Engine Protection Features- definable rev limiters for engine lean out, low oil, fuel or auxiliary pressures, etc.
-Traction & Launch Control configuration.
-Integrated 3.5mm headphone jack for real-time listening to knock
-E85 Flex Fuel Control for maintaining accurate injection rates utilizing real-time ethanol content monitoring. (Requires Flex Fuel Sensor like GM or Zeitronix)
-Built in Boost Control Software including Boost by Gear using OEM transmission sensors
-Spare 0-5v analogue input, one spare aux output, 3 spare digital inputs; Dual EGTS or multiple temp sensors inputs require Innovative SSI
-Water/Alcohol Injection Control
-Integrated Diagnostic LED's for easy visual confirmation of proper Trigger, Fuel Injection, & Ignition System operation.
-Instant Dual MAP Switching capability for street & track vehicles!
-User Configurable Sensors - compatible with any and all senors like FFE trigger wheels, or GM AIT or ECT sensors
-Serial Port connection for zero soldering wideband o2 sensor installation
-Race Dash Integration via Serial Output.
-Innovative Wideband/TC-4/SSI-4 Daisy Chain Compatible via serial connection.
-PLX Multi Display Gauge & Android App Compatible for real-time engine parameter display.
-If OEM harness is not available or in good condition; Adaptronic Wire In Models(E420D, E440D, E1280S) are available with either flying lead or terminated wiring harnesses.
-20B 3 rotor swaps require E1280S Super Computer.
-Easy to use WARI tuning software with USB connection to PC's running Windows XP, Vista, 7, & 8. Easy Datalogging with no additional hardware/software. Excellent direct and community technical support. 12 Month Warranty For more information please visit our sister company's website http://www.turbosource.com/Adaptronic-s/1939.htm

I was doing some searching on 7club last night to see if I could copy over fuel maps and read a thread pitting ECUs against each other, and it looks like the AEM series 2 ECU is pretty strong too and has even more capabilities. However, mostly what that means is it's difficult to tune, and I already can't figure this one out LOL.

I've been looking more into the AEM Series 2 and the AEM Infinity that will hopefully be released for the FD, and I'm kinda leaning towards one of those now. I still need to see how it matches up against the Adaptronic though.

Matt told me the Series 2 was never released for the FD. Tripoint Engineering used a Honda Series 2 ECU and put it in the OEM ECU casing with a USB port, so it looks stock for California owners when their cars get checked. Either way, it already has more capability than the Adaptronic I believe, and the Infinity is supposedly even better. Really what I'd like is to be able to hook up my dual EGT and wideband to the ECU and also watch it on a gauge while logging (without being a hassle like it is with the Adaptronic/TC-4). I also want VE tuning, flex fuel control, and several of the other functions that the Adaptronic and AEM have.

Since I'm deployed now I won't be doing much on the car obviously lol, but before I left I paid for the seat rails from Adam Griffith and Andy got me looking at brakes again lol. So I'm trying to buy a set of RZ calipers from a guy, but I may have lowballed him and offended him because I haven't heard back lol.

The more I talk with Andy, the more I want to spend money lol. I'm not sure if I've talked about it, but I've been looking into wheels that are 11" or 11.5" wide all the way around like his. I still want to do 3pc wheels, and now that I know most lips and barrels are standard as far as the bolt holes to attach everything, I'm trying to find just faces/centers and then I'll get the lips, barrels, nuts and bolts. I'm thinking about BBS LM in a gunmetal or charcoal color with chrome or polished lips. I also emailed Cosmis Racing about making their XT-206R in just the face so I can build those lol. I imagine they'll just tell me no lol.

Please check out this thread. EXACT same problems as you. he is trying to trouble shoot it as well. Adaptronic ECU, etc.
Looks like 4-5 people had the same problem.

So start reading on page 7 or read from the beginning? I'll read it when I get some time. I'm also forwarding it to Jesse since he might work on the car.

Also, I'm kinda looking at these if my other wheels will sell...

Do they look familiar, Andy? lol

Those look pretty nice:)

I do like the step lip wheels....always have. I would have kept my old SSR wheels if they were wider, always thought they looked good, just too much into performance.

I'm not sure how much these weigh, but I've always loved that if the lip gets dinked up, you can just take the wheel apart and swap it out. I'm not dead set on them, but I do think they look pretty good.

Were your SSRs modular or one piece?

I think Modular.
