I got the apex seals and MSD spark plug wires tonight. I haven't done any work yet tonight but I plan to.

I didn't work on it the other night and I had my promotion banquet last night, so I didn't touch it. I'm hoping to do some more work tonight.

What hole are you plugging? Is the larger hole too big? Are you not going to leave the drain on it?

I drilled a larger holes than what was in it. I didn't want to risk messing up the previous hole which is close to the edge of the tank, so I created a new hole on the other side of the tank. The old hole I am going to plug with a brass fitting and JB water weld. The fitting is cheap but had to order it, ACE didn't have one that would work. should be here very soon. I was hoping today but perhaps Monday.

Ok gotcha.

I did a little work on the car tonight. I cut off the coolant nipple on the rear iron and tapped the hole to 1/4 NPT, and I washed the metal shavings out so I need to let it dry before putting in the plug. I minimized shavings by using a magnet to collect while I was cutting, drilling, and tapping but some were still there.

I started to try to flare the stock fuel lines but first I want to test on a line I won't use and I couldn't find a piece of scrap line of the same size. Then I had the idea to use my micrometer to make sure the fittings I got will work on the metric sized lines, but I couldn't find the micrometer lol.

Zico helped me install the brake booster and master cylinder and it was easier to get everything back together under the dash than I remember. I attached the brake lines and I plan on pressurizing the lines before putting the engine back in to make sure they won't leak, but I think one is already leaking with just the fluid still in the reservoir, and I think I'm gonna remake another line too.

I also ran the low washer fluid wire and I was thinking of routing it over the wheel under the fender but I'm planning on getting a new tank made to mount where the ABS pump was, so I didn't want to have to remove the fender to reroute the wire when that time comes.

And I installed the boost pressure sensor.

I think that's it lol.

Did a little more work tonight. Reinstalled the ground buss bar on the driver's side, put the plug into the hole I drilled and tapped on the rear iron last night, tried to run the harness for the new coils through the passenger side wall but I think I'll need another set of hands to help with that lol. I also tested the AN flare tool on a piece of fuel line and it worked like a champ! So I think I'll do the other lines and reinstall them tomorrow night.

Not sure. I'm running low on both time and funds. I've been using my credit card to buy parts too just so I can try to finish it before I deploy...if that actually happens this time haha. I've been getting more done since Mom has been here though.

Congrats on the promo! Hopefully you can get your car running before the deployment. Due to our crappy dwell times, I wouldn't be surprised if my car wasn't on the road before I'm headed out again as well.

Thanks! I'll be sewing on this Friday. Unfortunately I won't see the check for another couple weeks lol. I haven't been out of country since 2011 actually, but I've been told for the last couple years that I'm going lol. I NEED THE MONEY! lol

I would consider not deploying as a blessing in disguise. The money is good the first few times...but after a while, the money doesn't seem worth the sacrifices involved. Not sure on your AFSC's dwell times, but my average is about a year or less at my homestation before I'm sent back out.

I haven't deployed since 2010. I'm about due.

I've deployed seven times, and I probably have a couple more before I retire. I honestly wasn't really into the last couple but it could have been the location. I went to Saudi twice, Kuwait twice, and the Deid three times. I am so sick of that place lol.

I did some more work on the car tonight. I flared the fuel lines and put the fittings on and installed the lines back on the car, and I installed the clutch slave cylinder. Not a whole lot, but it's something I guess, and it's something I was honestly dreading, but wasn't that bad. I just hope they don't leak lol. Here are some pics of tonight's work.
