People who think that their problems should be solved by other people.

Our latest product has a technical defect where a knob controlling something could be changed to a different value at the wrong time, thus breaking the product. The solution, by the people who control when said knob changes value, is to request that the knob be set to its highest setting to guarantee it will never be set to another value at the wrong time, but only as long as you need to access the thing the knob controls. After that, you immediately must reset the knob back to its original value, otherwise these people fail their metrics.

When I attempted to obey this workaround, I found that their knob changing mechanism was too slow (by a factor of 10 or more), and filed a report stating that the knob control team needs to develop a solution. If my thing is too slow, we don't sell the product (one of the key things our customers look for will not work). If their metrics are not met, no one actually knows since their metrics don't measure any real world situation (no product has ever been held up by their metrics). Clearly if we want to make money and sell product, we should damn the metrics and lock the ####ing knob to 10 if that's what it takes to make the issue go away.

Instead, the knob control team complained to upper management after normal business hours, and made the issue into a show stopper, only somehow I'm the one who is supposed to fix the stupid broken knob according to them. How, I don't know since I don't work on the knob part of our product and have no clue how it actually works, nor do I actually care. This has resulted in me getting a call from a different member of upper management every 5 minutes since 9pm demanding (against HR policy) that I immediately return to work and fix the issue.

Yeah, #### you knob guys. Wait until I return the favor at 7am tomorrow when you are all still in bed because you lazy blokes don't get in the office until Noon.

Joggers, runners, walkers that walk/run/jog on the street instead of the sidewalk right next to them. GET OFF the f*ing road! And they think they have all the right in the world and everyone has to yield for them. But your dumbass is responsible to look out for yourself too. If I think that way while riding my motorcycle, I'd be dead.

Same goes for bicyclist, holding up the traffic. What a bunch of selfish spandex wearing Lance Armstrong wannabe bastards. I understand that the law allows them to do that but how stupid are you to trust the cars on the road that's going 60 mph 2 feet next to you? What a bunch of ignorant bastards. I know if a car hits you, it's the car's fault but your dumbass still LOSE, dumbass. If I was on a bicycle, I wouldn't care what the LAW say, I would get my ### on the sidewalk because I don't trust these idiots driving next to me.

Ha ha, I say the same thing! I agree, for the most part. Joggers, yes- sidewalk. Dog/walkers, yes- sidewalk.

I'll preface by saying, I can't stand the whole spandex-suit-wanna-be-sponsored-weekend-cyclists-with-a-beer-gut riders that think they're a part of traffic. I think they should find a more isolated area to ride.

That said, I myself have been cycling a bit. After having experienced it and tasted the benefits to riding- I will say this... sidewalks aren't the best. The cracks, crevaces can puncture the tires and it makes for a crappy ride with all the transitions (sidewalk to curb to street, and so forth). That said, you won't find me riding on major streets like that.

All the same jazz applies to everyone: RESPECT others.

- Ride single file
- Stay to the side
- Ride responsibly, watch out for YOURSELF, use hand signals. bla bla

I mountain bike (granted, groomed trails/fire roads). I'm too scared of vehicles on the road to "share the road" with them.

Back in high school I helped a friend turn one of the windshield washers to face forwards so it would spray those people. They would really get out of the way quick.

When the county snowplow plows up the buried phone cable that trunks phone lines into my subdivision, including my ADSL Internet line, twenty minutes before I thought I was telecommuting. At least I found out why I had to go in! Those lineman had to work in inches deep mud and sleet, apparently all day. Back up, now.

Second time this has happened in as many years.
