Stealth This Is For You...
From your PM in the other Forum that for some reason I JUST got today even though you wrote it to me a few days ago.. I think that you should just save up and fork out the money for HIDs... Im serious dude, they are sooo worth it.. And for the price now adays for them, you can get a set from RPM for $150... I paid $245 for mine just over a year ago.. but as far as the parking lights go to,, stay AWAY from blue.. You'll get your ass pulled over in a heart beat.. Go with the Xenon white like you were looking at,, or if you really wanna go with something thats nice and suddle.. just the the Polarg Hyper white 194s.. they are cheap and look great.. or you could spend a lil more, or more like double, and get some Piaa extreme whites..

oh god taking off the bumper is nothing.. its like 5mins if that, its really easy.. And doing the HID install isnt to bad either, just drilling the dust caps and getting all the wire in there is the fun part..
how hard is a hid install? I was considering doing my lows, but don't really want to take off my front bumper if I don't have too.[/b]

Thanks for the input, Matt. I don't want to do HIDs for a couple of reasons.
1. Cost. $150 (what I can get an Apexcone 35W kit for right now) is a lot steeper than the $20 I'd spend on new halogens.
2. I don't like the prospect of trying to get my HIDs to aim right, and don't want to drive around with poorly aimed HIDs, blinding other drivers, like half the street-racing punks around here.
3. I am trading this car sometime in the next year, so mods are at a minimum.
In the end, I remembered that I still had the 194s from the dome lights in my garage, so I installed one of those in the parking light socket and called it a fix. Cost: $0
If I were keeping the car, this is what would NEED done to it:
1. At least two new wheels (probably aftermarket all four)
2. New windshield
3. Tranny and coolant flush
4. New tires this time next year
5. Paint job (done by cars collision two years ago) fixed AGAIN
Plus, I'd want to do:
1. HIDs
2. CAI
3. Tint
4. A ton of other mods
Just doesn't make sense when I aim targeting a trade soon. The halogens were going to be a cheap quick-fix/mod, but once I found those 194s in my garage, I saved that $20 for something else.

Just think of it this way though,, If you buy then and use them then sell your car, you can always take them out and use them on your new car if it uses H1 bulbs or you can resell them on here and recoop some of the money back...

True, but I will have drilled out the dust caps.

Ya, then you can just slap on a piece of black tape and call it a day when you sell your car.. the new owner will just have to find your lil surprise and figure it out for themselves..

You don't really NEED to drill the dustcaps. I am not sure why you would need to remove your bumper for the install either. I just ran the extra wire out the side and stretched the dustcap over it. I have had no problems with debris or condensation getting inside my housing. You shouldn't have to re-aim your lights either, unless they are already aimed way too high. The entire install took me about 20 minutes. I have the drivers side ballast mounted on top of the fuse box. And the passengers side is mounted below the headlight housing in the bumper.

um but remember,, your driving a 3... its a lil different than a 6 so taking the bumper off isnt really needed,, but makes it SOOOO much easier to do the install.. And yes you do have to drill the caps unless you wanna screw the cap on with the wires on the side and take a chance of screwing up the wires.. Your headlights are different from the 6, so for your install I could for surely see why it was more easy to do, but with our headlights the low beams are on the far outside so getting behind them with out the bumper off is a lil hard to do..
