Yep. A table of 8 has a breakfast bill of $68 half order steak and eggs. They leave $5. Dinner, the same 8 have a bill of more than $150 and leave $25.

It's definitely a broken system. Breakfast/Lunch should apply to different rules instead of the 15-20% of the bill. The servers IMO work harder and deserve more. The best is when that table of 8 leaves nothing and the run they waitresses around like slaves. Especially when it's a packed house.

Another thing that irks me is when it is packed and people start to complain things are taking too long. You need to consider that there are other orders ahead of yours. Expect things to take a bit longer. There is not enough room on the grill to make the 25 orders that are ahead of yours. Especially if half of those are well done steaks. If the place is empty and you wait a long time that's a different story.

You all have some very solid points. I enjoy my job serving people so busting my ### just comes naturally in that sense, which is why when i get shafted it sucks ha. People are super picky, at Proto's it takes ten minutes TOPS, usually 7mins, for a pizza to arrive to the table on an average night and people still complain about it taking forever -__- Cant please them all though!

Damn, that makes the freaky fast sub shop look miserably slow.

Serving can be fun with good customers, but it can be a nightmare when your tables are all full of a holes.

That pretty much describes every customer service job. I used to do phone tech support and when you got cool people calling in it was actually fun. But then you'd get someone calling to chew your head off because some tech who lives 2000 miles from you that you've never met was 5 minutes late. Having to sit there and let the customer shit on you for stuff you had nothing to do with is a big reason why I will never work in a call center again, at least not on the phones.

True and that's a good method miT. I'll be the first to admit that my method is very, ahem..."leftist" of me- I can't help it though. If the service is horid, I'll be between 10-15%, I guess. I've never flat-out *not* tipped, or left a meager tip if service was average, and more-so above average- is really what I was getting at.

If you're only paying $50/mo for TV service these days, you should be happy you get any channels at all, lol.

With most of the basic channels plus HBO and Showtime, 4 HD DVRs, and still making payments on NBA League Pass, my bill each month (with discounts from bitching over the phone) is about $150/mo. When League Pass is done being paid for it'll go down to about $105, but that's about the time that baseball starts up so it'll be right back up there while I'm paying for MLB Extra Innings.

Also, something to think about is that 2 years of $29.99/mo for the first year and $64.99/mo for the 2nd year comes out to $47.50/mo average.

You know, just because you hate the Obamas doesn't mean the rest of the country does. Michelle especially is quite popular. I didn't see anything wrong with it and thought she did a fine job.

True enough. I think the presenters should be others in the industry though. Nothing to do with Obama's family or anything, just thought it was a job that could have been given to one of their peer's

The fact that anyone gives a shit about who presented at the Oscars...basically, people that are just looking for something to bitch about.
