I'm going to try and do it myself. It is genuine carbon fiber. I haven't picked it up yet. They sell it close to where I work (link below), and Racing Trenz also sells it (they said they had 4x4 weave in stock, but no epoxy). I think 2x2 is more traditional and I really don't want the bigger diagonal lines of the 4x4 in the small interior (like putting huge tiles in a small bathroom). I've not done any work at all like this yet. I'm actually hoping to go into the shop and buy the stuff and see if they wouldn't help me lay up the first panel. Nice thing is I got the door panels extremely cheap so if it doesn't work, I just sell the inserts from them and scrap the rest and recover more than what I spent on the panels.
This is where I plan to get my stuff from tomorrow http://www.plasticareinc.com/

These will be overlayed on the stock door panel. However, I have spoken with a gentleman that runs a high end composite manufacturing business up north of denver as well as the folks at the site I referenced. Building a mold and vacuum bagging is really only beneficial if you mass produce parts. Otherwise, you are just as good doing a wet lay up. For real strength, I have gathered that you need to use pregnated fiber and then bake it at some insane temp (500 degrees maybe). I am going to build some actual pieces at some point for my floor board. I plan to use aluminum foil to cover the carpet and use that as my mold. It will probably only be three layers of cf.
Stopped by the autobody/paint shop last night and the winter/track bumper is completed. He also painted the new lip for my vin matching bumper. That bumper will go in once the paint gasses off and i get it protected with clear bra.
Also molded up a cf cover for my fuel rail. It still needs trimmed to shape, smoothed, polished and clear coated though....it is going to be a bit more of a learning process than I thought.

Picked up my bumper and lip. Then went to parts store and got: 18 ga wire, light probe to test circuit current, an add a circuit, some pennzoil platinum, bosch oil filter, k& n recharge kit, and small black wire loom. Should be everything I need to do the gauge install. Would be nice to not have to do oil since it is fresh, but oh well.
Also picked up stuff to do oil change on accord and brake fluid for accord and avy.

I am going to go pick up a transmission from an AP2 series tomorrow. All carbon synchros as opposed to the brass 1-2 synchro in the ap1 and a different reduction gear that gives more torque down low in gears 1 through 4. The transmission also has a taller 6 gear for lower rpm highway cruising. Going to keep the ap1 flywheel (lighter) but will need a new clutch since transmission is coming out anyway.
Picked up that transmission and saw something you guys would be interested in. Ls2 swapped fd. Nice blue color. Owner is in the middle of redoing the wiring harness, but it is quite nice. Looks big next to his s2000.
I did note he was running motons in his s2k. Nice!
He was selling the transmission to stay in str class. I'm a poor enough driver that class doesn't matter so I'm excited for the better gearing and synchros...and new clutch. Still need to figure that out. Still leaning comp clutch stage 1.
