I'm trying to decide if I should get a clear bra or not. The paint will have a flexible additive which with help minimize paint chips.
I do plan to drive this car in the mountains, etc.
Thoughts?

Do it!
Several options out there, i know of the 3m stuff, and now plastidip comes in clear-matte or clear-gloss which you can use as a protectant...

Pretty much any paint that's done now has flex additive. It's even factory standard now due to plastic panels etc.

If that's the case then it doesn't work so well. My Mustang already has quite a few rock chips and it has less than 12k miles on it. I say do the clear bra if you really want to protect the paint.

For sure get the clear bra. I had one on my old Seibon CF hood on my RX-8 and the hood looked brand new for over 3 years. The clear bra also helped prevent fading of the carbon/paint, it was still glossy. No chips or scratches whatsoever. Jimmy now has the hood and I believe it still looks immaculate.
When I get my FD resprayed (at least the bumper) will get clear bra'ed, probably the hood and some of the fenders even. The best part is you can't even see the clear bra very easily at all, it's like thick clear window tint. And in the highly unlikely situation you do get a rock chip in the clear bra, it can simply be replaced by peeling it off and getting a new one.

It's mainly to make body parts flexible to some degree instead of just cracking. I've never actually heard of it "protecting" against rock chips. Clearbra is the better choice for that.
I recommend this guy. He does good work. http://www.aceclearbra.com/

So it sounds like clear bra it is.
I would probably have Eclipse do it.
