My new Rx7 R1
ok guys so i need some help here, so yesterday i had a drift event up at IMI and all was going great! such a fun course but at the end of the day on pretty much my last run i was just trying to blow this tire that was as good as gone when i spun off the side into the dirt, when this happened my car stalled and it woul dnot start again, i at first thought it was flooded so i tried cranking for a bit with my foot fully floored after about ten mins it fired up with a big puff of white blueish smoke, it didnt feel right, my idle sounds weird almost like its misfiring? it like pulsates at idle if that makes sence, i drove the car home it drove fine for the most part i didnt build boost or anything at all, after i got off the highway and came to a stop, at idle it was hunting reallly bad and then would level out but still isnt idling like it is supposed to? i dont think its flooding anymore, do you guys have any ideas of what i should check, maybe some kind of connection in the bay or vaccume leak? i did have the hood off so my whole bay got dusted bad when i spun out

First thing to check is the MAP sensor vacuum hose by the throttle body elbow...but if this hose was blown off I doubt the engine would run well at all really while cruising even.
Do a once over under the UIM to see if you can spot any missing hoses...
Were you bouncing hard on the rev limiter while this happened? Did your motor overheat at all?
Last thing to do would be to check compression. It's hard to tell from your description what exactly is happening though. Any chance you could post a video or it idling?

ok il check that, and yea im gonna check all vac hoses, i wasnt on the limiter but was probably close, it didnt over heat i dont think the temps went to 105 after it shut off when i slid out but then came back down slowly, yea i want to but dont have access to a rotary comp tester, honestly as far as my knowledge goes im scared its kuputz but dont know for sure, to even start it i have to hold my foot fully floored and crank, i will post a idle vid

I'm just not sure what you could have done to blow it...sliding through dirt surely won't do it.
You don't have to have a rotary specific compression tester, a cheap Harbor Freight piston type one will work. Basically you're looking for compression and even bounces, don't pay attention to the numbers. If it doesn't bounce or misses a bounce, then your in trouble.
You can also do the "poor mans" compression test by pulling the leading plugs and your EGI relay and have a friend crank it with the throttle floored and listen and feel with your hand the pulses. If one feels really weak or a pulse is missing altogether then, well, you know...

You could bring your car to Dirty Jersey and I'll run a compression test for you....
But as Dave has said, check the simple things first.

oh ok cool, i had thought you needed a special one il do that, the thing that worries me though is that i have to hold the gas fully floored and crank it to get it started?

If you have to floor it to start it it sounds like it's flooding during normal cranking. When you floor the throttle and crank it's *supposed* to cut the fuel injectors. My PFC doesn't do this, however, but I have seen/heard of some that do...so who knows? Check your injector duty cycle while cranking from the Commander.

Ok I'll check if it is continuisley flooding would that cause the weird idle? And why would it keep flooding any ideas? I'm trying to get an idle vid but it will never load you know any better way to upload a vid other then photobucket?

here is the video, at first thats me trying to crank it normally then i fully floor it and crank and it starts, and i know it kinda sounds normal but that pulsating in the idle, is not normal and it wasnt doing that until after i started it back up after i spun

Like Eduardo said, change your plugs for some good ones, double check spark plug wire connections and vacuum lines connections.
ok thats good to hear, il change plugs they do look a like they possibly could be fouled, its just weird they would just happen to fould when i spun out and stalled?
so to see i threw in these old plugs that i pulled out when i first got the car, it ran fine with them i just wanted a record of my own for changing everything,
so put those in and it fires up right away without having to hold my foot floored, i let it warm up and drive it, it seems to drive fine, the idle is still pulsating a bit and i dont think it was doing it before all this,
but then i park it and go to start it up about 45 minutes later or so and it doesnt start, it turns over and stumbles at like 400 rpm then dies, i did this about 10 15 times, it would do it with my foot floored or not, finally when it turned over i was able to blip the gas enought to get it up but when i let off it wants to stumble low and die? could this be the plugs? if so then why would it start fine and then do this?
