Soon to be new FD owner in CO~!

Postby kensin » Sun May 13, 2012 9:14

hi guys my name is Dave

and im gonna be moving to Vail Co from CA due to family business.

i own a 93 VR FD and a 40th Ani 370z

my FD is all stock on the exterior besides some enki wheels, but under the hood its pretty moded .

i have a few questions about movign to Vail, i know it snows alot up there and with snow im afraid of rust . do they lay salt on the road to clear the snows?

is there any rotary shops or a really good TO-GO guy ?

i got haltech ps1k with a alky control meth system
is meth easy to get ?
any one know of any haltech tuners ?

because if its a hassle or a really small community for RX7's
im thinking about selling it befor i go up there.

thanks

Dave

Welcome to anothe FD owner named Dave!!! As for meth being able to get. Well that depends on how far you want to drive, and what purity you want. You can run -20 wiper fluid thats a about a 30/70 w/m mix. You could mix the yellow bottles of HEET (99% meth) with distilled water to what ever ration you want. Or contact you local tuning shop and see where they get theirs. And this forum is full of Rotary GO-TO guys!!!!! If I was ever to get an FD I'd get one here just due to the knowledge base here!!!! I'm sure the rest of the FD folks will chime in soon... Again Welcome!

Vail does get a fair amount of snow, but in the non-snow season, it is a great place for you to have that car...minus the altitude.

Lots of FD guys on here. Most of them seem to be in Colorado Springs, but definately a majority on the front range. Check out build threads by speedjunkie, VRX8, and chickenwafer. Other FD's, FC,s, and I think Fb's around too. So lots of rotary stuff. I believe chickenwafer is the tune guy. They all get together and help each other as needed. The Rotary group on here is pretty amazing IMO, though I don't have a rotary.

Colorado does put down salt. You are going to want a non-sports car for the winter. Pick up something inexpensive you can beat the crap out of and not worry about...

 Awww shucks, thanks buddy! LOL

Yeah there are quite a few of us on here, but unfortunately I don't know of any in Vail already. There was a guy in Parachute but I'm not even sure that's close to Vail and I believe he sold his. We do help each other out quite a bit, but I can't promise I'll be making it to Vail LOL. If you're mechanically inclined, at least a little bit, you should be alright. Well I guess that depends on what you'd want to do to your car lol. I imagine you'll make some friends up there that can help out if you just need some extra hands.

And yes, chickenwafer (Dave) is the tuning guy.

Either way, welcome! Pics of your cars? I like those 370Zs better than the 350s, I think they're more faithful to the old designs.
