So a little while back, I found out that my car was running low on oil. Figured the guys that changed my oil left it short. Same issue happened today. We discussed the possibility of the PCV valve being bad in chat today and that seems to come up a bit in searches. Tonight, when I got home, I decided to look around more. Disconneced the tube that goes from the air intake to the back of the case. It had oil in it. Then decided to pull the coils off. 1 & 4 were dry, 2&3 had oil in them. Other than learning how to remove a couple of different clips and my coils, I didn't figure anything out as I don't know if this is normal or not. I tend to doubt that oil in that hose is normal as it would seem it should be sucking in air through there, not puking oil out. As far as the area near the spark plugs, that doesn't seem right either.
Fail on the paper test. Started car, opened oil filler cap and tested to see if a heavyweight envelope would suck down. Only thing that happened was it tried to fly off. Fluttered.
Help would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

Oil in spark plug tubes usually indicates valve cover gasket set. At least the tube seals.

Service was excellent. Don is a racing nerd (I think he knows this), so I learned a good bit about racing past. Apparently those old codgers knew what was up. They, unlike most shops, were also open to answering my dumbass questions and explaining their points of views on them. Really, it was a good experience, the only thing that would have been better is if I could have taken the day off and spent it there "helping".
It is an interesting shop to be in. Everything in there with the exception of my mz3 was either turboed, or purpose built for racing...no other grocery go getters.
Valve cover off, Intake manifold removed. Little sneak peak of something I tried the other day included as an extra.

I am a racing nerd, there is no doubt. When you are a part of it, living it and breathing it you just never stop learning about racing, its history, and how this great sport came to be.
1986 Turbo FC race car, S6 13b, GOOPY Apex seals etc, GT35R, AEM EMS, lots more good stuff
