Scribz wrote:oh i almost forgot! if you are into crawfish boils you must check out the red claw on federal. Some of the best seafood in this landlocked state. Makes joe's crab shack taste tv dinners. A big must is also the fish sauce wings. SOunds different, but different is definately good in this case. Oh and the soft shell crab....man i miss that place. They also have beer for 2 bucks a bottle. For 2 people to literally get fat and happy, expect to spend 40-70bucks. My check usually runs 50 after tip and im stuffed as well as the mrs.

About where on Federal?

you are anti haul OR fatty tip. MEaning if either are involved you are uninterested. If it is AND, then the two must be paired to exclude your interest.

this is why legal and IT people make the figs...I'm not sure why I don't make them...maybe cause I'm a <edited>.

Best hamburger in Denver is the Bacon Cheese at Crown Burger on Colorado & I-25. I might have already said so but had one yesterday and they are epic.

'And' was merely used to reflect plural. Not a relationship.

I'll keep this in mind. I always thought the place looked a little sketchy, if not dirty. But a referral is comforting.

http://www.yardhouse.com/Default.aspx

This place was great! Probably one of the best dining experiences I've had in awhile (aside from a trip to Market Street in Utah, but that's not necessarily applicable to us in CO). The best of both worlds... upscale look, but not an upscale attitude... sports playing on a nice selection of tv's, but isn't a 'Sports Bar'... and TONS of beers on tap. The food is great, but as such you pay for it.

We started off with the 'Summer Salad' and 'Coconut Shrimp'. Both were spectacular! I could have just eaten these two items and called it good. They were perfect. Salad was loaded with candied walnuts, oranges, strawberries, huge avocado chunks, leaks, onions and finished with a nice balsamic vinaigrette. The prawns were quite large, fried to a perfect crisp, and resting on a bed of veggies with a tasty sauce (adding a kick).

My only complaint: I ordered a black and tan. I figured with sooo many beers on tap (and for once, a place with Guinness and Bass on Draught) that this could be easily accomplished. Nope. The beer/s came out basically mixed and with a 2" head. I've yet to find a restaurant that pours a better B&T than Old Chicago (sigh). Moving on...

For Entrees, we chose the New York Strip (medium well) and the porcini crusted Halibut. Whoo-ee, another home run! The steak was thick and large....came out steaming, stewing in its own juices. Cooked perfectly, a nice amount of pink- but no blood....perfect! The halibut was also perfectly cooked....a very nice deep white and plenty of moisture. The outside was indeed crusted to perfection, providing a very complementary flavor. Both meals rested on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and veggies.

No room for dessert, but something tells me that would have been great too. Oh, and the service was excellent...very attentive staff, well mannered, and polite.

This is my new favorite place, and I will be returning. The downside: for two peeps (with drinks) $130:eek:

Quality is worth it though, right? (Glidden?)
