Shadowden wrote:wrong place for it, but you seem really chill for being in a freaking desert (in a war zone). I have obviously never been deployed, but I feel like I would be wound tighter than a (insert something that is wound amazingly tight).

In any event good for you and thanks.

p.s. the chill factor would definately play to your benefit in a F&F driving cameo...

Well I'm in the desert, but where I am is more like a vacation spot than a war zone haha. Where I am, the only real threat is getting hit with something launched over a body of water by a country that has been getting more and more frisky lately (but I don't see that as being very likely)...or attacked by a terrorist when we go downtown, but that's not likely either lol. It's pretty chill here in general. And according to my two Army roommates (well, one is still in, one did 4 years, and both are on this forum haha), the Air Force has more jokesters than the Army HAHA. Hey, we have to do something to fill up all our free time haha. I've tried to go to Iraq and Afghanistan, but it's been turned down every time. Either way, I would imagine I would be wound pretty tight if I were there instead of here.

I don't feel I'm doing a whole lot, but you're welcome, and thanks for your support.

By F&F cameo, do you mean like drifting down the side of a mountain with no guard rails while gently turning the steering wheel and having a pleasant conversation? I see what you mean, haha.

edit: a cut hood does not make a car rice though it is a bit tacky

Oh OK, I didn't know that. So no more F swaps huh? I guess that's SO last year haha. I don't think I'd do a V6. Why add the weight when you can just bore the hell out of the 4cyl and have a nice, fairly powerful, highly responsive NA that weighs the same as before? Seems like a lot of work to still be in the 13s.

Yeah I don't think the cut hood is rice...if it has some non-functional hood scoops, then yes LOL.

It's a kinda of an easy swap I suppose. Some people like to be different.

It went from a b series swap to an f to a h then k then j. I wonder what's next lol

Dude the F swap is like 5-6 years ago haha. It's all about the K swap now, or the J V6 swap.

I agree it's not really ricey, but it is done "tacky". I'm sure could have been better ways to accomplish the hood fitting (like spacing it or getting a different hood) than taking a sawsall to it.

Low 13s is pretty quick if it's still NA and all they did was just swap a stock J-series. There's still a lot of work you can do to make it faster with NA mods, boosting it, extreme weight reduction. Still, it's now even more heavily weighted to the front, so you can forget about doing anything but drag racing the thing. Talk about understeer.
