the act six sprung clutch is a good clutch and isn't as abrupt as others i have used, my 7 is running one now and it is a lot less abrupt engagement than some companies full disc clutches i have used when i owned my other 7. Plus like you said the price of a new disc is dirt cheap compared to almost any other setup.
87 red rx7
running 13b re cosmo motor
03 yellow wrx
yes it is a stock color

Cool, thanks man, great input. I'm pretty confident I'm getting the right clutch for the job. Besides, this is my weekend/fun car, so I can deal with a slightly harsher-than-OEM clutch since it will probably only see 3000 miles a year at most (unless I do DGRR).
I was debating over what to paint my rotor housings....originally I was going to clean them up as much as possible and either polish them or paint them with a nice high temp silver paint and clear coat. But then I decided that wasn't enough for me, so I ordered some cool, flashy new paint that will match some other under hood components so I think it will flow nicely.
The color will match the TiAL BOV, the TiAL MV-R w/g, and my boost controller

^Well, I'm actually getting the HD clutch disc, not the XT. The HD claims to have a "stock to moderate" pedal feel, whereas yours claims "moderate to heavy" pedal, so my pedal effort will be less than yours, which is what I wanted haha.
Finished porting the front iron and completed the rear iron secondary. Didn't snap any pics of the finished rear secondary but it looks pretty damn similar to the front primary. Here is a picture after I scribed the port out, you can see how much larger the new streetport is:

Then I started the primary ports on the intermediate iron. I was literally shocked how much larger and aggressive the Pineapple primary ports are. Brap Brap Brap here I come!

Overall I'm pretty happy with the ports. I'm not polishing anything to a mirror like finish as I'm using some of the abrasion to help with fuel atomization and "eddy current" flow.

Oh yeah OK, maybe yours will feel different then haha.
Those ports are pretty nice. You guys should open a shop. LOL Actually, someone here on the board has mentioned opening a shop, but it would be in C Springs. I won't name him because I'm not sure he wants to be named haha. I think it would be cool to work there too.

I would commute to C-Springs to work in a rotary shop! Haha, but no I've seriously thought about it, just takes time, money, and balls haha.
Ordered my TiAL BOV and TiAL W/G the other day. Got the BOV in man this thing is beefy! The build quality of TiAL is second to none. Everything is expertly CNC machined billet aircraft grade aluminum...even the hardware. It just feels quality holding it in your hand. Can't wait to get the wastegate!
I was going to have Defined Autoworks weld a TiAL flange on the charge pipe for me of the v-mount they're building me, but they want to charge me $38 for the flange (unless I ship them mine) and $70 for the welding. Kinda pricey considering I dropped just over $1400 on a custom v-mount with them...I guess I expected the "loyal customer who's dropped some good coin with us" discount on the welding, but I got ziltch. I can have it welded here locally for $20 or a 6 pack so that the route I'm going.
I also got the w/g ahead of schedule so I can the flanges welded to my manifold and the manifold work done already so it's ready to go. Should be ready to order the rebuild kit here shortly and then I'll be in business.

Finally finished the exhaust ports. Being that they are aluminum I would have expected the carbide burrs I have to eat through them quickly. Not the case. The chrome/aluminum liner is harder than the cast iron plates!
Using my air grinder (didn't have a 1/4" chuck electric grinder, which I did) which sucked because my 17 gallon Craftsman compressor couldn't keep up with my grinder. This meant I only got about 20-30 seconds of grinding before my compressor ran out, and then I'd have to wait to 3-5 minutes for the compressor to recharge.
Because of this, and because I wanted to take my time, It was took me roughly 2 1/2 hours per port. Ug.
I didn't even port them as large as the Pineapple templates suggest. I more or less matched them to the exhaust sleeves and then polished them. Just wanted a little more flow, not really altering timing much.
Here's the pic from the iPhone:

Dropped off the irons off US Automotive Machine & Performance here in Loveland to get them hot tanked. It was rather funny as I'm pretty sure none of the guys there have seen any rotary engine parts before. The machinist was originally freaked out I wanted him to "lap" the irons, but once I told him to just hot tank them he was cool haha. I also explained which sides were combustion surface and bearing surface and he completely understand and said he would be careful.
I'm going to pick them up in a little bit (hopefully) or if not today, tomorrow morning. Will post pictures once I get them.
Also got in my TiAL MV-R 44mm v-band wastegate today. This thing is machined so beautifully it's really a shame you won't be able to really see much (or any) of it when it's installed on my manifold, since it will be hanging down below the downpipe, near the subframe.
TiAL is finally including ALL springs with their wastegates so no more ordering your w/g with a set of certain springs and then paying $10-$20 per spring for others, which is nice. Doesn't include any instructions, however, so I had to look up on TiAL's website which spring color was for what PSI/Bar level. Found out of the base of 10psi I want I needed the Gold/Grey spring combo.
I removed the actuator top and put the springs in...they were a good 6-7" long uncompressed. I can't believe I had to compress this! I had to put the w/g on my bench on push with a good amount of my weight on the top and then use my free hand to secure the 6 allen head cap bolts. A rather annoying/frustrating task for sure. I then screwed in the banjo-bolt style air fitting and the plugs and hooked up my compressor to verify the 10psi claims and it was pretty close.
Will get some pictures up once I find where my wife hid the camera

Well the machine shop came through quicker than anticipated and I went and picked up my irons just now. They look pretty good but the guy said they must have been painted with enamel or even powdercoated before because some coloring didn't come off. No bother to me as I'm painting them. At least there's no more grime/oil/dirt on them.
Irons freshly hot tanked. I know they don't looks like much right now, but they will look much better once I paint them this weekend.

And pictures of the TiAL gear as promised, revealing my proprietary baller status color scheme:

Last one, shows the water port on the MV-R w/g, you can see it says "H2O" above the port:

Again, the camera flash makes the purple somewhat dull appearing but they really are a rather bright, metallic finish. I love the color so much I specially ordered some VHT High Temp paint in the same purple finish to paint my rotor housings in. I think the metallic purple with the black/wrinkle black and polished combo is going to look fantastic.
I also can't speak highly enough of TiAL products. The quality is outstanding and they really thought of everything in the design and engineering of the product. I was originally considering going with a Precision w/g to save a few bucks but I'm glad I stuck with TiAL instead.
On that same note, I ordered the TiAL products on eBay from "RealStreetPerformance". Great, great, great outfit to do business with. Within hours of each Buy it Now auction I had a tracking number AND a photo of the shipment label in my inbox. Amazing communication, free shipping, and some of the best prices on eBay so I highly recommend them. They deal Garrett, TiAL, Precision, Turbosmart, etc.

Good to hear they finally include all the springs now. It's a pain waiting for it to get to you haha. I've been through that. It's also a pain putting all your body weight on it just to install the thing haha. And the w/g has a water port??? You gotta fill me in on this one haha.
Hmmmm, purple...green outside....paint your face white and put some clown make up on and you could be the Joker. You're a bit late for Halloween though Dave. lol
