Help Mazda 3 HB 2.3L

I have a engine light on with error code P2404, anyone know in better terms than the internet what may be wrong and what might be required to fix it?
Also any good repair shops in CO/pref Lakewood or DTC that won't rip u off?

Also last question, not sure if anyone has this or had this, when I start and change gears between 1-3rd, I hear a sound only when I gas it or shift up and gas it good, it sounds like the tires are squealing in the front, but obviously they are not? Tranny issue? clutch slipping? Anyone heard this noise before in their Mazda? last only a split second, then goes away, and only when given a good amount of gas.
